If you are thinking about getting the Kicker under seat sub, don't.
Stop thinking and do it. One of the best mods I've done to date with this speaker upgrade. Drivers side. Amazing. Love it !!!!!!!!:dancingbacon::dancingbacon::dancingbacon:
If you think the tweeters were cool, this will amaze you.
Driving with a 4200NEX dual sub line out.

When I removed the 6x9 the other day there was more water than I expected on the speaker and in the door. Would that kill the speaker in 3 months?

Ok Folks. Installed the Alpine Power Pack today. It's exactly what the Kicker KS speakers needed. It's awesome. Used Metra adapters so I didn't need to cut anything up. I recommend doing it this way. Thanks for all the help.

I’ve ordered the Metra adapters. Isn’t there something you have to re pin? If so, can you explain what you did? Thanks.

Cut and splice to the adapters. It's plug and play from there. At least that's what I did and it worked.

Dash lights and radio knobs both work. They don't shut completely off but I'm not sure they ever did ...

Did you create the harness or the Best Buy installer you mentioned in another thread? I’m only asking because maybe he pinned the harness if he made it. If you did it and didn’t use it, I’d rather prefer your method than switching pins around.

Here's my opinion from going with the tweeters, to the speakers, to adding an amp. The kicker tweeters are better than stock, but if your willing to some work yourself you can find better sounding tweeters and wire them for cheaper. The kicker tweets to me sound closer to mid range than high end, I confirmed this by using another set of tweeters I have that produced a better high frequency clarity.

The kicker door speakers are a good option if you want mid bass. These really excel at producing bass. They're a bit more mediocre at producing mids and highs, which is even more noticeable when paired with the tweeters that do make the high frequency as clearly. With them all in I felt like the sound was less robust on the upper end.

Adding an amp that puts 50W to each channel helped to bolster the bass and some of the mids and highs. I dont feel like its a necessary add on with these speakers, but it was worth it if you can justify spending another 200 or so.

Ultimately I would recommend that you go to a local dealer and listen to speakers in person to get a feel for what you like the sound of. Going straight to the Kickers wont be the best for everyone. I have no complaints about this set up though when comparing to stock.

I actually did that. I realized I'm not much of a sound critic. The guy pointed at $350, $450 and $550 6.5 speakers as he flipped through them. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between any of them. Came home and ordered all the speakers from the original post for a couple hundred bucks since they were on sale. As soon as those went in, I had a definite wow moment. I could make out words I couldn't in the stock speakers, and it produced enough bass to shake the mirror. For me, it was really worth it.
