Maybe a couple workarounds depending on your source (e.g. iPhone):
    1. Increase your source volume so that the head unit is working in the lower end
    2. Use the source unit's eq (e.g. Bass Boost) to adjust the sound prior to making it to your head unit

Ah glad I checked in here! I just ordered the speakers for $126.98 as well. My truck doesn't get built until Jan. 8th but can't pass this up. I'm gonna have a stack of mods before I even pick up my truck :) The waiting is killing me!

Do you guys have a lot of door rattle? I got my speaker sounding better with much much more bass now..battery must of been low or something but it's night and day difference since my last post. Now my doors have a lot of rattle to them and I even Noico'd them.. did anybody else have some rattles and tracked it down? Even listening with the door panel off I can't really pin point exactly whats causing it.

Also, get to install my sub once my truck is done at the dealer tomorrow :bananadance:.
(Truck is being re-tinted for the 3rd time...)

Most of the rattles in my doors were caused by the door skin & card either interacting or rattling because the card had room to move back and forth. Decoupling them with neoprene did the most damage to the rattles in my 1st gen. Not only does it decouple, but it can take up a little space to keep something like the card from getting the chance to vibrate. You'll get a thermal barrier out of it too.

Crutchfield said in a chat that the DS series works and sounds better with just the HU and the CS works better with an amp. Did anyone go with DS?

I have a few additional questions.

I have the Entune Premium with the nav and all that. I'm going to put in the Kicker Tweeters probably this weekend. However I'm curious to know, does that particular non-JBL Entune have an amp tucked away somewhere? I was thinking of going the OEM+ route down the line (without their speakers) because I have leftover gear like a set of woofers from a PPI P65c3 set (these things bang nice), and work well with the Taco Tunes speaker adapter. Then just add the Kicker coaxles in the back.

The non-JBL Entunes HU does NOT have an amp. The whole system is powered by the factory HU (internally).

Bring it down here. I did mine Christmas weekend and then did sound deadening on another truck this past weekend. Got an insulated garage with a space heater!

Thank you! Also, is there any picture of the rear of the unit with everything labeled?

Not that I have seen, but to add an amp you only need to tap into a few wires behind the HU. The thread that he linked below has lots of great info on how to make a harness so that you don't have to cut any wires. @Friedtacolover posted some pictures of his a few pages back (as an example).

Last question: People that are running both the Subaru tweeters as well as the speakers linked in the OP, do you find there to be TOO much highs going on? I feel as though having great tweeters then a multi-axial speaker in the door would have overpowering highs....

For me, the mix is PERFECT. What I found actually was that when I did the tweeters and not the doors initially, I had this issue where I had to turn the treble way down so it didn't overpower the stock speakers in the doors. Once I put the other 4 speakers in, the balance is awesome. That said I run mine in a "stair step" with Treble being a notch to the right of center on the mix, mids a couple to the right of treble and bass generally a notch or 2 from max and at those settings my mix is perfectly balanced for my tastes.

Needs. Mow. Powah! I thought the same before I installed all this, but for my needs I can jam plenty loud and bass is great for the 6x9s. Sure you could get even better sound with an amp and sub but still pretty shocked after all these months that that HU actually works well with aftermarket speakers sans amp!

OK, I'll baby step this, and add as needed later. Thanks!

Edited to add: Yeah, I ordered the speakers. I can add more to it later if/when I get bored....
