    I had thought about that, too. I need to not over think it and start simple and eliminate what possiblities I can myself. Start with regular maintenance stuff and go from there.

    You're welcome, wheel bearings are easy to check while you're checking the regular maintenance stuff.

    Yeah. I'm not a mechanic, but I can do the average parts changing and maintenance.

    I did mess up a brake job on my Ranger... Forgot to grease the sliders. The pads bound up and wore out premature. Not my proudest moment when I saw what was happening! :annoyed:

    To check your wheel bearings Jack up your truck, grab the wheel at the top and bottom and try to rock it. There shouldn't be much movement.

    Definetly check the bearings, i have 201k on my truck and ive changed out three of them so far. Mine always made the most noise while driving 45-55mph

    Also, if it is a front one mine would stop making noise when turning one direction. When the front left was bad, it would stop making noise when turning right

    im on my 3rd set in my 2015 right at 20k miles now. No one has any clue why either...Just got it back yesterday after replacing the newest set.

    Did it cause a shake in the wheel at the same mph range? I just had my tires balanced & still have a shake but not as bad as it was.

    For future reference did you replace with OEM or did ya use after market bearings? Which ones are best to replace with or are they all about the same?

    I used OEM on mine so i cant comment on the quality of aftermarket, but i cant imagine them being much worse than the toyota ones.

    Good info. I haven't noticed any difference when turning. I don't normally try to take turns at 45-55 mph, either.... J/k. I get what you mean about turning. I had an '80 280zx that I experienced that in, tho. This seems different. I'm thinking it's either tires or the carrier bearing.

    I checked the muffler bearing, blinker fluid, and rotated the windshield wipers.... None of that fixed it. :rolleyes:

    Wow.... 3rd set in 20k? Front or rear? Could it be a slight bend or imperfection in the axel....? Just a guess. Usually it misalignment or overloading that wears bearings out. Besides the obvious.... Mud, sand, shavings, etc...

    Yeah he says it cause the aftermarket company he gets the 4x4 flanges from doesn't have 4x2 flanges so he has to use toyota flanges.
