I'm pretty sure you can just swap out the valve body and the main plug with the wiring instead of taking the whole trans apart to switch out the output shaft. I didn't attempt it because I didn't want to risk the failure but I'm pretty sure it'll work.

And I'm saying that because I have the a340f and the a340e that was in my truck. You would obviously need the output shaft if you only had the 2wd trans

i had a hard time finding just the output shaft, seems like you'd have to buy a whole transmission and swap the shafts out

But I think I could have put the valve body that is in my prerunner trans into the 99 taco donor transmission i used for the output shaft. The only differences are the valve body and the output shaft. Switching my valve body into the 99 would give me "drive by wire". It would surely save the whole tear down on the transmission. I've never seen it done before but I think it'll work

No I did not. I was able to find a front differential that matched my rear. I have 4:10 with an e-locker

Yeah I was told that the 4.10 did not come with an e-locker.

So it would probably be easier (but far more expensive) to find an 03-04 A340F?
