everything is ready to come out now rear driveline and exhaust are all out. while I was looking under the trans I noticed a sensor near the tail end which the 4x4 trans nor the fj case seem to have? is this the speedo and if so what are my options?

Auto tacomas nor 4 runner has it, at least not in that place.

yes that's the speedo but on the FJ tcase there should be a spot to for it . Should be a plate cover over the spot on the case just remove it and the sensor mounts there

I'm sure you fixed this already but you are missing the cv axle seal and the spindle seal

I actually didn't fix that yet it's on the todo list. I needed my truck this weekend and didn't have the seals yet

no . I have a automatic transmission in my truck . But we did it on @SGTCap truck when we put the FJ tcase in his. Just unbolt this plate at the rear of tcase and bolt the speed sensor in . On the manual transmissions the speed sensor is gear driven so if you pull it and stick it on the transfer case at that spot it will be gear driven as well

Also good to know for the sensor location, I'm not sure why I didn't see it there or maybe just didn't occur to me at the time..

    fj speedo port
    IMG_3412.jpg

    prerunner trans
    IMG_3415.jpg

    Trans is finally out
    IMG_3413.jpg

only issue I had was swapping over the speedo sensor. looks like there is a gear drive in the prerunner trail end but nothing in the fj case just a solid spacer. is there another gear that I can swap in there to drive the speedo?
