Price on 99 V6 4wd

Good Evening,

We are looking at a very clean 1999 Tacoma Xtra cab V6 4wd w/ 163k miles. Appears to have all original equipment, tires in great shape (plenty of tread left on Michelins). Original paint in awesome shape, except for minor scratching. Haggled a bit, but bottom line they $7600..... Doing some research and this price seems ok? Any input and anything i should be wary of on this 13 year old truck??

I paid 6300 for my 99 4x4 v6 with 195xxx. Body was in great shape with some minor rock chips on the doors. Also got studded tires on their own rims and a small house they called a camper shell. So 7600 seems a tad high but maybe i just got a good deal.

EDIT: Are you at a dealer or a third party? $7600 seems fair if its through a dealer

 

Private party sale. Do you have concerns with the rust recall/buyback? This truck has never seen snow....

 

I checked out my frame pretty thoroughly before the purchase but everything looked fine. The rust is a big problem in states that use alot of salt on the roads in the winter. Alaska uses something else because the moose really enjoy licking the salt and we had lots of roadkill. Look at the frame and see how much, if any, rust is on the frame. If there are any spots where the frame has been eatin all the way through i would be hesitant to buy. Hope that helps!
