Ordered my prinsu cab rack about a week ago from CBI. I was told they had a 5 week lead time from order date. 6 days after making the order and I've already got tracking number and is set to arrive on Monday. Gotta say I'm impressed.

Had the same luck ordering from Truck Brigade. Shipped in 7 days, and got the order in before the price bump. Used the live chat feature and got it for close to $650.

Followed along with all the input in this thread during the install and wanted to give some thanks to everyone who contributed. Only bit i'd like to add is that a dremel is not only not needed but actually made the job harder. When prepping the rubber weather trim, it's significantly easier to remove the metal stiffener with cutting pliers and a utility knife. Make a perpendicular cut along the back side of the rubber trim just to the left/right of each section of mounting points. This cut only needs to go through the layer of the trim that sits down in side the channel of your roof (don't cut all the way through the piece trim!). Trust me you'll know if you hit the metal stiffener. Once those two cuts are made just slide your utility knife along the back side of the upper layer of the weather trim (connecting the two previously made cuts!). Repeat for the rest!

@zscott wondering if you sell individual side side rails for the Top Rack? Ive got a slight bend in one of mine from an accident, would love to be able to purchase a new one. Thanks.

Anyone with a prinsu rack (or similar) ever put a decal on the front wind fairing?

I really like some of the retro style decals and was considering adding this one to it:

This has probably come up...but there are over 500 pages so forgive me but has anyone attached a light bar to a Prinsu without the cut out? Wondering what that looks like.

Anyone know if the roof rack needs to come off (or just the last bar) the for the 3rd brake light recall?

I'm not trying to take this rack off

The womenfolk are complaining about wind noise. Just wondering if anyone has figured out a quick detach system so I can unmount the rack quickly?

I didn't make a "quick detach system" but I wish I had. I really didn't think about it until well after it was installed but I figure a person could easily accomplish this with stainless all-thread rods and nuts rather than bolts.

    Genius.

Just weld a nut slightly above where the rod meets the surface of the roof, fasten rack down with another nut? Would it be an M6 rod?

Would you unmount it every time they ride with you? Feel like it would be more useful to try and eliminate the wind noise instead of figuring out a quick release system.

Honestly I'm not sire what the size the rod would need to be or the thread pattern. I'd probably just end up taking the Prinsu factory bolt to my hardware shop and find a match. Haha.

I don't have welding skills so I wouldn't go a welding route. My line of thought would be to figure out the length of all-thread so that the rack can be placed over top and leave enough thread to tighten nuts on.

Thinking more about it now, it'd probably be a giant pain in the ass to line the all-thread up with the brackets but i feel like it could be done with the help of a buddy or three. Haha.

Not really that useful in the city, I rarely use it. Apart from the noise problem, it is just increasing the frontal area of the vehicle; makes it use more fuel.

How? I bought the piece that closes the gap between the rack and the top of the windshield, it was installed on the first day. Rack is deafening on the highway. I am going to buy the 80/20 strips that fit into the crossbar slots, otherwise I have no good ideas.

This guy mentioned moving the first crossbar back and adding the strips.

Finally installed mine after buying it Black Friday 2020 lol. Got my maxtrax on and want to put an awning on the passenger side. Looking at cvt, I think the 55” but does anyone have insight on which size is best?
