Just got mine lifted on monday, will post pics up this weekend. Ride is a little rough, but holefully will smoothen out after I put some miles on it. My truck still has that slight rake to the front end, does anyone else have a rake as well? Will it go away after it settles or can I put a 1/4" spacer in there to level it out? Sorry if its already been discussed, but I've been through this whole thread numerous times and not in the mood to reread everything again. Thanks

The rear should settle a bit.. it shouldnt be that much of a rake tho. You can take the sway bar off too to help the ride. Also, I have my rear tires at a power PSI than up front to soften it up. Helps alot. Usually run about 33 up front and 30 in the rear.

No he means "rake". Where the front end is slower than the rear.

hey im not trying to go a different way on this thread but it is titled as "pro comp". Has anyone on here heard anything good about the 4" lift pro comp makes. Im interested in it but i dont know of anyone who has it to ask them about it. i doubt if anyone will know anything about that specific lift but if you do i would appreciate the help. thanks

I'm sure it would be just like any other drop bracket kit. Me personally... I avoid DB lifts.. but to each their own. they work.. but just not my cup of tea and useless.. Imo. Do they make a 3" for 1st gens?

Youd be better off doing some trimming... And stuffing larger tires in there. That's where you get your lift and clearance. I know the 2nd gens can trim and fit 35"s with a 3" inch kit.

im running 32x11.5 right now so bigger tires arent much of a concern right now. that lift allows 33x12.5 so thats not a huge difference. the only thing i would lose clearance on would be the front and im not exactly driving right over tree stumps ya know.

Just one more thing to get hung up on. And its a pretty vital area to losel clearace on. If you dont want to to run bigger tires, why the need for a 4" kit?

well i would eventually run some 33s but not have them be 12.5 wide. and up until i could even get those tires, the stance would be taller. although i like the look of the bilstein and eibach setup, i just like the idea of a taller truck. as you can tell i think about this a lot lol

the spring rates on the 3 inch procomp lift are 730 pounds. so even though it states its a 3 inch kit most people go above that. for instance my regular cab was sitting 4 3/4 inches above stock the day it was done.

i don't know if the first gen kit is the same as the one for the 2nd gens but, i would wager that the spring rates are still awfully high.

fyi, it took an arb bull bar plate steel skids and a winch with steel line for it to begin to lower and smooth out a bit.

it does now i'm the last guy i know of to buy and instal one.

i bought this kit and then had it turn out higher than the rcd drop bracket lift lol. so after like a month of back and forth i finally got them to change their vehicle and model specific choices for tacoma lifts. this was due to me, they also sent me out the arb bumper for free to help lower the front which actually worked pretty good but, its still way to stiff even after the addition of skids and a winch.

Alot of good feedback on this lift. I have been running 5100s at 2.5 for the last year and now I wish I would have gone with this lift instead. So probably gonna add new coils soon or sell the 5100s and buy the pro comp lift
