Hey Toyo, I have one pic you can see my truck in. Go to Tacoma Videos, scroll down to HD Go Pro shortie vid. I"m in the back row on the end. That would be, on your right. Get back to me if you saw my truck.

I didn't read the entire thread but you want a pro-comp lift cause its cheap and you're thinking about putting an arb bumper on it to soften the ride; you do know how expensive those aftermarket bumpers are right???

Ha yea the thread took a different path. Now I am looking for people's experience with just the lift and ride quality. I am aware how expensive they are, just wondering if that amount of weight would help.

I also have the procomp spring and aal lift. after 35,000 on it-it's still holding up and it's still rough to me. I don't think my alignment is perfect (maybe cause of 3" lift) because my tires-i think tow in because they wear a little more on the outside and you can see them leaning in but i keep my nitto tg's rotated every 5,000 and i got them on soon as i put the lift and they still have 5,000 miles left on them so its not that big of deal. I am not sure if it is my 305 wide tires or just my alignment but if you barely turn it really goes off in that direction but tracks straight on a straight road. My 20's and 8 miles of dirt road to and from work/school also create a little rougher ride too but overall it's not that bad of a lift as everyone says. I say for the price-go for it

No worries the bumper was just an idea. I was under the influence that this lift rode so rough that something had to be done to soften it up. Now my thoughts have changed after hearing 10 sucessful stories about this lift.

Excuse me if I say this wrong because I’m new to the forum, and suspension vernacular. So the most popular way to lift Tacoma’s and level them is: 5100 bilstein possibly coils, and AAL. My question is: so the Bilstein 5100 replace the stock bilstein’s? Then do coils just add a stiffer ride? What exactly are AAL’S?

Welcome! 5100s can be used with or without stock coils. They can be left alone and adjusted up to 2.5" or paired with coils like eibachs or OME 885 for a full 3" lift. AAL is a rear lift, check the glossary up top for more info.

    ^Thanks!

Is AAL necessary? I would put the Bilstein 5100, to level my truck out. Not so much really for off roading.

AAL is not necessary if you set them at or below 1.75. You will need the 1.5" AAL to level it out with the fronts set to 2.5". Check out the vendor section. Both toytec and wheelers have a great selection.

The only possible negative thing would be the stiffness, but I don't mind it at all.
