Get what you want. I wanted the sr 5speed manual but got the off road dcsb. Every time I see the AC. I cry a little and step on the gas to wick the tears away.

X2.... I guess I just don't understand all of these threads people make wanting others to make a decision for them. Do some research, weigh the options with your opinions, make a decision and move on!

If you're worried about warranty, get a Pro (but don't pay markup prices)

If warranty be damned, build it and don't look back.

OffRoad 4wd for sure and build it the way you want. Same capable truck for less.
I almost went with the pro but its hard to find one with manual and with all the mark up its a total rip off. Plus coming from driving an STi, dont want to have leather seats anymore because living in socal desert in the summer with 110deg temps its not too friendly in the bum.:bananadead:

Get the PRO. You can build but it will never be a PRO.

What does the PRO mean to you? Is it the reselling value of it? I am probably different from most, but if I plan to mod a vehicle to an extent, then my goal is to keep it. Not that resale value shouldn't matter, but Im not the type that needs the newest thing every three years.

If the PRO is just a status thing, but you want to wheel...build a sick rig.

10k can be pretty fun to spend.

    Still waiting for it
    It's not 10k- jeez
It CAN be 10k compared against the best deal for an OR and a marked up Pro.
It's more like $4k against the averages and comparable specs.

Ok. It really is all preference and what you plan to do with it. If it's a matter of you wanting one ready to go as far as going off-road and whatever, an OR or Pro would be good enough. I have a Pro and just took it to Death Valley to test it out with a bunch of other rigged up and built trucks. They were surprised at how well my truck handled the trip considering some of the trails we went on were a bit difficult. I'm not some off roading pro or veteran but I will say that the Pro was very good to me on this trip and never once did i worry. There was another Taco on the trip but it was a limited and the guy spent $15k just adding stuff to it to make it better. I bought mine at sticker price as well. you can find one, you just have to be patient.

If you want to just mall crawl, get another trim.

Thanks guys really appreciate the thoughts. NOT looking for anyone to make up my mind for me. Built 4 cruisers and used them - no mall crawlers. Having driven to Colorado/Mexico many times from Central Texas and tired of sinking cash into a 20+ year old vehicle, I thought it time to consider a Tacoma.

IBAD2K - All the research in the world can't replace good old fashion experience. Cheers!

Basically it just boils down to whether or not you want the truck though. The pro isn't that much more capable than an OR. Do you want the cement color and leather interior. There isn't a truck out there from the factory that can compete with a "built" truck (aka a bolt-on truck.) I say get the pro and then get whatever shocks and control arms that you like the best. Just my $.02

I agree with this man, if you want the cement then do it right. Personally I think that Cement is worth it as it looks good and unique. That being said though, I would totally gut the suspension for something better so an inferno OR would be my choice personally.

Exactly, and the best part is that I bet you could get $2K for the suspension that you pull off of it. That's a great start on a nice set up.

That's impressive that you can get that much out of the Pro's suspension. That's way more in resale value than I thought, maybe...get the pro then?

The Pro has a couple of color choices you can't replicate affordability.

If you don't want one of the exclusive colors, it doesn't really matter does it?
