Click in my signature on the rear mounted winch in the stock bumper. For now this is still serving mr very well, and those hooks have really protected the rear bumper no plans of changing it for now. Eventualy I will pull that out (someone will be the lucky buyer of that.) and it will go high clearance. But for now I tow a lot so that's not a good option.

Bumper looks really nice. Have you gotten any twisting of the frame where the bumper has movement over terrain?

alot of times over rough terrain the body moves around alot due to the rubber mounting...

so it gives the illusion the frame is twisting however the bumper stays still its the body that moves

If i could I would love to make the exact bumper you did with no winch (cause I would never use it) and Get it powder coated to match my truck I think it would look mean. But I cannot weld for crap

I left the sides of the bumper a little less then 1/2 inch from the body, i dont like having this gap between the body and bumper but i really wouldn't like them to really hit.

Welding just takes practice, some people can pick it up really fast others it takes more time, a steady hand is a must and go slow in the beginning. Thats a big problem for a lot of beginners just because there teachers fail to turn down the machine and let them really see what is going on.

If i wasn't going to put a winch in it I would have built it closer to the body i think it would have looked better that way.

I have pictures with measurements coming up later tonight i hope....
WERE ALL going to pretend that i used a computer. im not having much luck with this new mac book pro thing.

I think it looks good its very hard to keep everything to be a mirror image of itself on the other side, it can be very frustrating at times but its also very rewarding.

What are you going to do to finish it? i would fill the main voids with diamond plate and cut it at a 45 degrees to the pattern on the plate, then recess it so that the square tubing was sticking out maybe 1/2 inch more then the plate. i think that would make it look sick. also if there is anything about it that you are not satisfied with fix it now it will be the only thing you can see when its done. good luck.

thats pretty much what i want to do, then install some driving lights by the grill, and fog lights in the outsides. I was gonna use plate but tread plate would look good too. I was also thinking about doing headlight loops. The other thing is the winch mount. I made it big enough for a winch but didnt add the mount yet
