description says its good with either cable or rope. I've always figured the cable would rip them up too. The rollers on my steel cable fairlead are pretty ground up as is.

^ That one is not aluminum, it's steel. You can't use cable with aluminum fairleads.

i like the side lights, good for shining light on the sides of the trail, or good for catching those deer before you smash them

I was sort of re thinking the side lights into some lights recessed into the bottom of the bumper to cast light right in front of the front tires wouldn't even be able to see them from the front. I think if I don't put them right in front of or on top of the tires maybe a rock won't get them.

up next was time to drill the hole for the winch cable to exit, i have never used the hole saw to drill through steel before i thought this would be a hidden first try, thought it turned out well and was much much faster than i thought it would be.

here it is with the hole cutout done should have made it a little wider i think may have to come back and cut more later. well see.

next i tack welded the roller fairlead on i now have the bolts, but now cant reach the back of the bumer without removeing the grill so i just tack welded it on
    [IMG]

and here is a side shot, i weighed the roller fairlead and its 10lbs, not ideal but for now it will have to do.

now on to the options, light and cutout placement

    option one
here is the fog lights directly under the head lights and the winch access cutouts right below the grill lights
    [IMG]

    option two
here is with both lights slightly moved in, i kind of like the fog lights but dont really like the winch access cut outs moved in.

    option 3
this is the fog lights in the middle i think i like this position the most for the fog lights and i like the winch cut outs directly under the other lights
