    Warranty didnt cover it. Dealership wont take the Blame because according to them if it was their screw up, it shouldve happened right then not after 6 k miles. Engine it toast. Oil pan had nothing but metal shavings. Dealer ship quoted 7k to re pair the engine. I found a used one for 2100 with 40k miles. + 800 to the mechanic to swap. total $2900 + 220 to the dealer for dignosis. now my ododmeter reads 73k but will have an engine with 30k miles less on it. Next week they will start swaping.

    Damn, that really blows. Glad you found a reasonably priced replacement and were able to save some money but overall a crappy situation. Almost worth taking them to small claims court, there's no way in hell an oil filter could work it's way loose if properly installed.

    LEER Shell with dome lights operated with 3 way switches, aux backup lights with relay and 3 position switch, modified wiring to compass/temp display and clock to include switch that disables dimming function (poor man's DRL solution), Scan Gauge 2
    That sucks.

    I know nothing about the Small Claims process. You might look into it. What I would be worried about is whether you can LOSE anything other than your time.......maybe someone knows.
