Hmm. At 8.0s it would be 1.3s slower to 60 than my 4.0L 6MT Frontier Pro-4x. I'm sure you'll squeeze more out of it though! A brake upgrade might not be a bad idea. I know the Toyo MT is about the heaviest 285 on the market.

I’m curious about what it’s run on stock wheels and no weight added. Wasn’t really expecting it to be fast but it does help on the highway

I know it’s not a roots style blower but there still shouldn’t be that much lag with a centrifugal. Hopefully with some more tuning time, you get a little better drive-ability

So you have to wait till 70 mph to feel a huge difference? Sounds like a waste of money for all that extra crap on there. Doesn’t seem to make sense for any type of normal driving experience

Seems like an incredible waste of money to not feel boost until after 60+ mph. That's just.... unfortunate.
You can talk about acceleration times and whatnot due to weight all you want, but the fact of the matter is that a proper forced induction kit should provide usable boost that you can feel long before that speed, and so this is a terrible problem.

Also, I'd want to know approximately what rpm this boost is becoming felt/usable. Even though a centrifugal unit like the Procharger will usually yield higher power higher in the rpm band, it shouldn't be flat out useless down low, both in terms of rpm and actual speed.

At face value, this thread unfortunately only serves to probably turn people away from this kit, and apparently for good reason lol

I'd start with revisiting the tune for revision and improvement as the first place to look/address

Agreed, it's rather bizarre that even a centrifugal unit would effectively be useless until 68mph, with no felt boost before that.

Somewhere back last year, probably last summer, in the OVTune forced induction thread there will be posts/talk about upgraded injectors from a Lexus vehicle, I can't remember which vehicle though.

OV also has an upgraded fuel pump with controller option, some of the turbo kit owners have it as an add on to their kit to support higher boost/horsepower

Looks like it shifts right at/around 68mph, are you seeing the boost before redline or after the shift?

You need a smaller pulley and a wastegate. You will be much happier.

Maybe I'm missing something but that launch was anti climactic. Looks sluggish as hell. Pretty sure my 1st gen would smoke that monthly payment. Who said that??!
