Well, I had the 3+1 OEM set on there, and I was sagging pretty badly with my 110lb DIY drawer system when I was towing my 300 tongue weight pop up so I put in Sumo Springs. Since I have the gen 2 the sumo springs available at the time were the 1000lb compression strength version and my springs were resting on them pretty well so my back end was pretty much locked in place. This was proven even moreso when I swapped in the TRD Pro kit and realized that my leaf and shackle bolts were corroded to the point of being nearly stuck.

The Dakar heavies, with the top overload removed give me a slightly ass high stance and at least an inch of space between leaf and sumo, so I have small city bump suspension softness until I load my trailer or several hundreds of pounds of gear, beer or dog in the back. To be even more honest, if I could swap out these sumos and get the 3rd gen 500lb compression strength version I'd be in a perfect sweet spot.

Needless to say I've thought a lot about how to get the system that I want, I'm just about there now, and the Dakars were a pretty big factor in that.

Sorry for the late reply! The difference between the 5100’s and this new set up is night and day. Haven’t been wheeling on it after install but this suspension is solid! Can’t feel the bumps! very satisfied! Far as a lift didn’t do pre or post measurements but the Taco is level now.

Next mod will be C4 rock sliders that will come in last week of August.

The front lift is about 2.25".
I added 1/4" spacers on both sides.

Regarding vibes... could someone post up a list of all the possible "fixes" so they are in one post? Or to phrase it differently, what are all the things you can do to "cover the bases" when installing this ~2" front and rear lift (assuming a modded rear, as well)?

    For example:
    -diff drop
    -carrier bearing
    -ECGS bushing
    -shims

    What else?

Installed the Bilstein TRD Pro suspension a couple months back.
Front left blew a seal already :(
I called around and it doesn't appear that anyone rebuilds them... (or at least that I could find)

Said "F it" dumped them and bought a set of Old Man Emu BP51's :)

Did you buy the part from a dealership? Toyota accessories carry a 12 month warranty on them.

Dang that sucks, but the BP51’s look awesome.
Was it normal driving or off road use ?

I did diff drop, carrier bear drop, and 2 degree shims. No ECGS, I have no vibes, or any other problems

I noticed it clunking on my drive from work... When I arrived home I noticed my entire wheel-well was coated in oil.

I had gone off-roading (fire road cruising) a couple days before with the pups so perhaps that’s when It blew?

Not sure if I just got a bad set or if they blew because my truck has a bunch of weight added (sliders, sso bumper, winch, canopy, RTT, etc)
I did like how they rode when they were functioning properly.
Way better ride than stock OR shocks.
