That's what I'm searching for right now. There's already info/talks on this thread saying that these shouldn't be any different from the regular 5160s that bilstein already has. I wouldn't be surprised if Toyota just slapped the TRD stickers on them and did a slight change to them to justify why its a "TRD" part.

Looks about right. That seems to be the general consensus on the thread to what can be achieved on the rear. For someone like me who doesn't really haul heavy things in the bed, I might be leaning towards just going with add-a-leaf. I just don't want to the ride to suffer because I do kind of like how it feels right now even if it nose high.

So assuming these are the same as the regular 5160’s they should be able to handle a Dakar leaf pack or would they be too much?

Between the Dakar “Medium Duty” and “Heavy Duty” do they both provide the same amount of lift and just different weight capacities?

Lastly, anyone with HD Dakar’s how stiff is the ride?

SN: If there is a Dakar thread about comparisons I haven’t found it yet.

Did you take any pre-install measurements to see how much lift you gained in the front?

Care to provide any comparison of the on-road feel of the Pro kit to the stock OR suspension? Firmer or softer, nose dive or body roll? Pretty much any feedback, other than ‘I like/hate it’ or ‘so much better/worse than stock.’

Thanks, truck looks great. I’ve got the exact same truck but 2017.

Would I be correct in thinking this lift with the aal will be able to fit 275/70/17s?

Same questions! I'd like to do a leaf pack replacement with these rear shocks. I need something that will get me slightly nose-down, handle a few hundred pounds without squat, and decent ride. I'm assuming I won't need HD for that.

I am running 275/70-17 on a stock 2017 sport on stock wheels, I ordered a kit and am going to go with 255/80-17 km2s

Exactly, I like the rake even with a 2-300# load I still want the truck to be “nose-down”.
I carry about 80lbs worth of tools everyday and I can’t stand the slight sag I see.

I don’t think I need the HD either I assume the medium duty is still far superior than the stock.

I have the Icon mini leaf pack and it gives me 1 inch over stock with a canopy on, Deaver looks good as well https://www.deaverspring.com/products/toyota-leaf-springs/tacoma-2wd4wd-6-lug-2005-2015/
OME looks like mostly over 2 inches with their stuff.

Just went outside and measured my truck, 2017 AC 4x4, 4 cylinder 5 speed. Measured from the ground up to bottom of fender, center of tire. I have swapped out the stock shocks to some 2017 TRD 4x4 ones. Did not get any lift when this was done. Stock 245/75/16 tires. Measured LF 35 1/4, RF 35 1/4, LR 36 3/4, RR 37. Full tank of gas. Anybody else with a 4 cylinder AC 4x4 measured their truck? If I get 1 1/2 inches + I may not have to do anything to the rear. Any thoughts?

Supposedly. Also if you buy the hd leafs and remove the third leaf(I think it's the third) it becomes the med pack. If you buy the medium pack and sag, then order the missing leaf it converts to the hd pack. It's slightly more expensive to order the med plus a leaf if needed vs. ordering the hd and removing the leaf. It's very simple, yet all confusing at the same time.
Allegedly the lift on med dakars is 2" with 0 load and 2" on the hd Dakar at 600#. That's all third gen, it's 3\4" higher with second gens. Allegedly...
I run probably about 600# since I have a cap, rack and stuff in the back so I went with the he pack. If it's too much, I'll remove a leaf.

Thanks that makes sense, it would save time and money to just have the HD pack from the beginning remove the leaf if too stiff or add it back on if my current load needs change for whatever reason.

Is there extended bumpstops needed as well?

Yes on the first sentence. That's exactly why I ordered the HD pack.
Second sentence: Needed, I dunno, but I am getting some bump stops. Seems logical too me.

My same thoughts on the bumstops.

I'm thinking Wheelers bumpstops, good quality and the price looks right

finally Got the truck off-road today on a trail up in Santiago canyon. Trail is pretty slow 1st and second gear as it’s pretty rocky and dirt bikes on the trail kicking it everywhere. Impressions is the front end is completely transformed. A lot better articulation running tires through uneven ruts. The rear honestly unloaded was still pretty bouncy considering stock leaf springs but did articulate well when I was going slow enough. I think the rear will show it’s advantages on flatter dirt roads with washboard.

So to get to this trail you take a pretty fun windy road and it definitely corners flatter. I feel like the nose dive when braking is similar to the stock offroad suspension. My only complaint is when the bed is unloaded the rear end is still a little bouncy
