If you put the coil overs on page one on a 3rd gen you’d theoretically get .75 inches of lift and are non adjustable. Those are 2nd gen pro shocks. The 6112’s will take you as high as 2.5 inches over 3rd gen stock.

Shoot. I'm following two of these TRD suspension threads... thought I was posting to the one in gen2 Forum. Sorry! I was looking for lift confirmation on a gen2.

You are almost at the cost of regular 6112 and 5160 after buying the retainers and another spacer.

I don't get why people are doing this. Is it for the Toyota stickers on the bodies?

Close to it but not there I could put the extra I would have paid for regular 6112/5160 toward my leaf pack that I would have bought regardless. The the stickers, red spring, and tuning and valving done by toyota is only another plus. Sounds like a win win to me. To each his own.

Yep I understand that they're valved/tuned specifically for our trucks by TRD. I would think that's a plus over the standard issue. Certainly not a negative?

These weren't designed for our trucks.

The new 6112 from Bilstein is designed specifically for the third gen.

I was all about them when it was believed that these had 5 retainer positions. Even though the OP said they were non-adjustable, the photos said otherwise. Now we know they only have 2 retainer positions.

    Agreed.

That kit in OP was made for a gen 2, but hey your truck not mine.

Just picked up a set for $640. Not a bad price considering the cost of just a set of 6112 is around $600. The bonus is that is comes with the 5160 for a few more dollars. To me it's worth the try, the stock OR suspension is a little too bouncy for me so the added stiffness is a plus. Lift isn't too important to me at the moment just ride quality.

Down the line when the quantities of these shocks dry up I can resell these for a little more since they msrp around $1500. Just some wishful thinking if things don't go as planned!

that pic is deceiving. He's not level. But based on that thread he got roughly an inch.

I'd say this is a great deal for an SR5 and OR, but not a Pro.

Yea.. Buying Pro suspension for a truck with Pro suspension is probably not a great deal.

Also, in case you think there is more deception going on..

How is the ride on and off road compared with the trd or suspension? Did you add anything else suspension wise?

I know this is the Gen3 forum but I was planning on 6112/5160 anyways, set to correct taco lean and lift 1.59. If this does nearly the same thing for half the price I'm in. Does anyone with a Gen2 have the PRO suspension? How much lift did you get?

Probably a better question in the second gen boards.
