Well here’s to making the leap! I’m on my third Taco but have never gone into suspension upgrades before.

I'm getting mine shipped into Sumas, just wondering where you getting the install ? Really for a good shop a couple of hours and all 4 shocks should be in.

I wish they had replacement bushings for the rear shocks included in this kit...

Are you suggesting a worn bushing = new shocks?

I'm putting brand new suspension on a truck with 40kmi on it...s few cents of bushings included in the kit would be nice. I'm assuming most of these kits were produced to sell to buyers of new trucks from the dealer, which is why they don't include them.

I’ve got this kit sitting in my garage and I’m still trying to
decide what to do for the leaf springs. I had originally planned on Dakars, but this thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-with-the-dakars.156353/page-55#post-17056877
    pretty much ended that idea.

Noise like that would drive me nuts. From what I can find the AAL’s are quieter but may die sooner. Deavers look nice but lose load capability or have too much lift depending on model.

I’ve got a shell with Prinsu Toprac and often have a bike rack on back. So 200-300 lbs in the bed most the time. Anyone have suggestions? Need to decide what to do about leafs before I can install this.

I received the Wheeler's 5 leaf heavy duty pack today. It has 4 thick leaves and a reverse arched overload that looks to be 2x thickness of the other leaves. Install will be tomorrow. Keep in mind, I'm 2nd gen DCLB. I have a bed rack, roof top tent, plate bumper + swing-out. I'm at about 450 lbs constant. I expect about 1.5 inches after settling. I expect you would get 2 inches with your set-up.

I can take measurements if there's any 2nd gens out there that wish to know the results.

@TRD-OffRoad_Ben is installing these with an AAL I believe, I'm waiting on what you all come up with as well. I don't care about running 285's so this kit would be right up my alley, just need to find out what to do with the rears to run a topper as well.

you going to do your bumpstops as well ? I was looking at getting @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc bumpstops.

after seeing the 2x thick overload, no, I'm not going to do the bumpstops. I'd be shocked to bottom out that pack. if I do, I'll add them later. If I was going add a leaf, I certainly would.

I can’t find much info on the Wheeler leaf packs and noise. It’s also weird they don’t list them for 3rd gen on their site but do for 2nd gen. I’m kind of OCD with squeaks and noises on my truck. I realize with a lift there will be some noises but I’d like to keep it to a minimum.

Anyone adding 2.5 or 3 deg angle shims to their leaf pack with this? What about carrier bearing drop? Really only want to do the install correct with the least risk of future fiddling if I can.

Hellwig helper springs. I guess on a Tacoma you'd have to dump the stock overload leaf, replace it with the Hellwig. Those Hellwigs are stout. Won't give you much lift, but you won't sag with the ez-990. And you still have the full articulation from the 5160's from these Bilstein rear shocks.
