I hope the droop is the same as the regular 5160. You can only lift 2-2.5 inches over stock with the smaller 5160, which i think these are.

I hope so, for your sake. Bilstein makes 2 different sets if 5160 for Tacoma. I believe the cut off is 2 inches over stock rear lift. The bigger ones won't compress all the way with a smaller lift and the smaller won't droop all the way with a larger lift.

I'm not too concerned*. I don't do much that requires lifting and flexing outside of trails and dirt and mud. No rocks.

I have the same set-up, but I have the longed. Need to raise the rear a tad. How exactly did you raise yours and how did it impact the drive?

That’s correct. Also I don’t know if the life of the rear shock will be affected by adding blocks or AAL since it is not designed for a lift.

Just pulled the trigger on this set up from olathe toyota $625 shipped. I read the kit comes with two notches on the front, driver is set higher, what are your thoughts on putting both on higher setting then adding a 1/4 inch spacer for the taco lean (thinking headstrong's $29) to get a little more lift? Also saw in another thread someone added an icon 1.5" add a leaf with this package, which sounds like that should help level it out. I don't have topper so 2" in the rear sounds too high

I used 2” blocksfor the rear. Keep in mind the weight of the shell, platform and gear gives it just a slight riseto level in the rear.
It rides fine. Actually, I can see across the hood better too.

That's what I did to give me some more adjustability.

Right. Per my old research when I had my 2G at the time 5160s were designed for 0-1" of lift, which is the big reason I went with the 5100 that could supposedly tolerate 0-2" of lift per DownSouth Motorsports.

I'd be hesitant to run 5160s with a lot of rear lift.

Is it only 1 inch?! I thought I read 0-2 inches. Maybe I was reading 5100

I liked them, they handled well. I ended up though switching to KO2s as I wanted a 6 ply. Toyos offfered either 4 or 10 (too heavy imo).

They offer them in 255/80/17 with a reported weight of 50lbs. Which for a 255 is actually a featherlight. There doesn’t seem to be much feedback on the forum about that tire in general, and I’m not aware of anyone trying them in 255 yet.

That's a tire I was looking into as well. Some 255 look really skinny and some look good. I'm trying to find a picture of an actual tire to see. Sidewall design plays a big part in the look.

I agree on the sidewall. A coworker has the open country’s which he really likes. I think they are similar to what folks are saying about the Falken atw3, they look better in person.

255s are definitely skinny, but on the right wheel they don’t look dinky. I had 255s on SCS s6s on my last truck, 17x8.5, and I didn’t think they looked skinny at all.

Part of the reason I switched to trd 4 runner wheels- better off set and you can place a c rated tire on them. Ko2 c rated 265-70-r17 are 45lbs. I believe toyo e rated are over 50 lbs.
