Oh there will be some mods all right
When I ordered it said, "Your items are currently not in stock at our warehouse, but they are on order from Toyota Motor Corporation North America. We will be receiving them from Toyota North America in 3-5 business days.

When we receive them we will then ship them out to you immediately." I then got shipping info 3 days later

My worry is that I spoke to my local parts guy at the dealership yesterday. He looked up the part and saw that over 30 were backordered all over the country with only one available and the part is showing discontinued. I worry that the backorders won't get filled.

I didn't get the same message you got. Mine just said:
"Thank you for shopping with us. Toyota OEM Part World allows up to three (3) business days to process orders.
You will receive an email from Toyota OEM Part World giving the estimated delivery date and tracking number of your package."

I contacted them today with my concern and they said:
"So far we are still getting them in from Toyota, so until we hear otherwise from Toyota we believe we will be able to fill all orders."

Just finished my install and shake down run. Dropped the ball and forgot to take measurements before and after... I will pull it back in the garage tomorrow and measure the after dimensions. The ride is a huge improvement over stock, I took dirt roads I regularly go down and this kit makes a huge difference!!! I think the truck is pretty level, but it’s dark out and my door yard is far from flat.

I ordered mine from conicelli in Pennsylvania, had it delivered to a parcel reception place in Vermont and imported it myself.

Don't we think that Toyota will keep providing these shocks in perpetuity as a sustainment piece for the old TRD Pros? I.e., when their Bilsteins give up the ghost, won't the dealer warranty / replace the item with the same item? I'd guess that we've created an artificial high demand signal, but not one that will 'dry up' the supply. What am I missing here?

And, yes, I bought these things, too. Too good a deal to pass up - delivered today from OEMParts.

My plan is if I have one of these fail on me I’ll just buy 6112’s as replacements. I’m betting with a fair amount of certainty there is very little difference between these and 6112’s other than the number of snap ring locations. If only one fails I’ll sell the lone survivor as a spare in the buy/sell here for cheap. Or by the time these fail I’ll have saved up for Kings...

From what I learned yesterday, there are still plenty of individual shocks left (RF, LF, RR, LR), but they are $500 each from Toyota directly. Toyota won't piece them together and sell them for the price of the kit. So there are plenty left for when a 2nd Gen owner's give up the ghost. If not under warrant, though, they could be paying quite a bit.

When did you order from OEMparts, if I might ask.

Hey Rob, do you think you'd need to remove the retaining brackets regardless of which brand AAL is installed?

That would be a no. My buddy installed a single leaf AAL and he told me he didn't grind anything but then he said he was at it much longer than i took and i took a while on the driver's side. I'm guessing because the single has more arch. It's not really too bad to do unless you had to use hand tools then just forget about it. haha

Just finished the install haven't driven it. I used the ICON AAL for the rear. It measures 39 even in the back FL 37 1/2 FR 37 5/8. 20180222_185004.jpg
