Will this kit work if I already have the MESO @MESO puddle lights? I haven’t installed the Meso puddles yet, but plan to soon. I would love to get this Toyota set as well if it would all work together.

@Justinhisle cannot see any reason they wouldn't. Maybe but unlikely two more LEDs would be too much draw on the circuit--assuming both tap into the dome light circuit.

I think it will work but personally I like the OEM kit and think the mirror puddle lights would throw a different pattern or too much light on the OEM light pattern. the light pattern on the OEM kit has a nice straight line and lights up a lot. A friend of mine used his MESO puddle lights for under the hood lights. GSUBIGUY did you install yours yet?

With a very minor modification, I believe it could. Another option if you have the Meso kit would be adding more lights from VLED. They can easily be made plug and play with the Meso kit. You could feed the wire through the firewall and then to the lights. Watch your amperage as well. You can add footwell lights this way as well that will mirror the behavior of the puddle lights.

An option for those that don’t have the Meso puddle pods but still want to add lights like this would be waiting for @kmorgan3 to release his footwell light kit. His will have the capability to easily add VLED lights as well for puddle lights.

The VLED lights are pretty bright for their size, I think you’ll be surprised. I am personally adding some of the pod lights to the steps on my predator side steps. My set up is a little different, but it could be done easy enough going straight to the Meso puddle pods. I just got to the point where amperage we a concern, so I expanded :D

The patterns are different for sure. The Meso design is great for when you are walking to the truck, not so great when exiting the truck though. Why not have both was my logic. These are the ones from VLED btw. Available in white, red, and amber.

All in what you want. I can see your logic, I just got my butt handed to me on this past install. Not bad but took a while. I'm happy for now as I'm studying up on the Spiker hood struts or the Redline which I had on my Mustang.

That’s a possibility maybe. I am never sure how “mass appeal” some of the stuff I do to my truck would be.

When the lights go completely out the foot well lights are barley on, this would not show up in a good enough pic so I had to cut on a maplight to get a decent pic.

To resurrect a 2yr old thread:

FINALLY installed mine (bough over two years ago :(). Other than operator error, was a pretty easy install. Time will tell how they hold up to NE winters/road salt.
