Puddle lights on 2015 side mirrors?

Took a ride in a Rivian. Was impressed by the puddle lights. Anybody tried this on a gen2? Recommendations?

 

Buy some puddle lights and drill them in, run wiring to point desired.

Really applies for any vehicle. I added some to my Tundra. And my 3rd gen Tacoma but bought a kit for that.

lookup 4runner mirror swap. 2010 4runners basically are tacoma blinker mirrors with puddle lights. You can also go to VLED and they sell a puddle light kit you can drill a hole and put them in your mirrors. They sell a floor LED kit which taps into the dome light. you can split off that to control your puddle lights for minor or no splicing.

 

I wasn't gonna admit the acceleration and silence were impressive. My Taco might be listening. Nice ride for a cool $124k loaded like the demo i drove though. Thanks for the info will look up the VLED.

 

VLEDS sell weatherproof strips that can be placed in the pinch weld under the cab by the doors. Much better than illumination from the door mirrors.

 

exactly! I had installed the floor convenience ones so will will tap off but the posi tap was what I was planning on doing.

@caribe makaira any idea which ones go to the blinkers for tapping for the turn signals in sport mirrors?

 

1D is above 1E.

Same position different years.

 

what is the difference between the 2 sets or is it 2 versions I may see? Do you only need to tap power and tap grounds elsewhere? These diagrams always confuse me at first.

 

Wire colors for different years. Ground can be at a door screw/bolt.

I still need to know how you fill the spots with color when showing wiring colors. I do it and it completely covers the numbers.
