so after much research i cant find many ways that people have attached pull out awnings to thile cross members/racks/ what ever you want to call them. Dont really know if i want a rear facing or side facing (obviosly both). But was just looking for suggestions on a good brand and mounting options!;)

If that was my truck, I’d attach a couple downward facing aluminum L-brackets on the ends of those cross bars to do it.

I’d drill holes in the cross bars and bolt the L- brackets onto them so they hang downwards. He could then use the vertical part of the L-Brackets as a base to bolt the awning on.

Most awnings come with basic brackets, L shaped. Got to get creative with how you mount them.

Just like this^^^ If you DIY it, don’t use thin brackets though if you offroad a lot and leave the awning mounted all the time. Thin brackets may crack at the bends because awnings are heavy.
