I was really back and forth between the Dynapros and Duratrac's. The 75-80 mile freeway trip today did me in. I hope I don't get disappointed with the traction in the Dynapros.

Actually Duratracs meet the snow requirements in testing (hence the snowflake symbol on the sidewalls) and surprisingly do really wheel in the snow.

I was tempted to go with those, but after researching here on TW I went with BFG AT KO's...

To get the snowflake symbol, the tire has to get only 10% more traction than a "reference" all-season tire on packed snow in ASTM testing.

    http://www.tirerack.com/winter/tech/techpage.jsp?techid=125

Get a real snow tire for the winter if you drive a lot on snow and ice. They have a softer tire compound for the colder temps.

I drive in a fair bit of snow in the NE but I'd rather not be swapping tires for the season. My Duratracs while maybe not as good as a dedicated snow tire still do very well. Granted that's in comparison to the terrible stock Bridgestones that come on the Sport stock. I use 4x4 less than half as much as I used to need it before in the snow.

Do you have a lift? I have a 2012 reg cab and would like to get new tires n rims. Id like to do 17 in rims over my stock 16 in and I'm not sure what size tire would be best for rain/ little snow/ little wheeling/ majority city driving. Would 265/70/17 fit under my truck no lift no cutting? Thanks if you can help
