    hello everyone

My Jeep got totaled last week (person blew his stop wifey was driving she's OK but still sore)

I'm still undecided on new or used but just wondering if there are thing I should be aware of like options that are useless and so on ? Also I do enough offroading so should I be looking at getting the TRD?

here's a pic of the accident :(

trd offroad has atrac which is awsome if you get a 09 or newer you get the little button on the dash for it and you get a elocker, my vote is for a 09 or newer trd offroad ome 886 lift with dakar springs, ecgs front diff bushing and tires of your choice

Lift. Tires. Weathertechs. Tint. Stuff like that
buy a new one if you can. there isnt much difference in price between 09-10 and brand new... its hard to argue with the idea of a warranty.

    And get the trd.

Glad she's ok. That looks like a hell of an impact.

TRD versions get you a few perks like some bolstered seats, firmer suspension and some maybe some off-road traction options. If you're one to replace suspension parts and such as soon as you drive it home, you might do better to save on price and build your own TRD options instead. Why pay to replace em, I say. Good luck!

This is true. I just traded my '06 for a '10 with 26k on it. It was just hard to pass up a TRD Off Road loaded up with a 6-Speed, so I just did it. :D

Are these trucks fairly expensive to lift? How high to run 33s for no rubbing offroad?

well if you do a 3 inch or so lift (do not run spacers) and chop the front cab body mount some, with proper wheels it shouldn't rub, ome from toytec is around 700 with just an aal, I have billstien 5100s set to 1.75 with 265 75 16 duratracs and like the look,

A little advice test drive first and make sure you have no vibrations that seems to be one of the biggest problems with this gen a lot of people are getting a vibe at 20mph and at take off if it vibes drive another one and keep driving one until you find one that doesn't vibrate. It seems to be hit a or miss mine didn't vibrate on the test drive or I was to excited to notice but it got noticeably worse after my lift I wound up putting a single piece driveline in and that cured the vibes but you might try a search for different problems and solutions other than that it is still hands down the best midsized out there I have been averaging 19.5 mpg on my 2012 and it just turned 10k on the odo.

wouldn't Toyota get the vibe fixed on a 2012?It's kinda hard to test drive cause they will have to get the one I want from another dealer or have it made if I get a new one.

Hmmm looks like the TRD double cab doesn't have the atrac option available seems for the access cab only now I'm torn between traction or space .

to have A-TRAC u must get a TRD Off Road. TRD Sport does not offer it. My TRD Off Road Double Cab has it and the E-Locker

I'm impressed that there are so many posts that talk about A-TRAC and we're still on topic.

    A-TRAC kills zombies.

I'm pretty sure you will only be able to get the DCLB Sport in Canada. Do a search on here, OZ has talked about it before.
