The TRD OR has stock tires around 30.5", the Dick Cepek Extreme Country 255/85s I went with are around 32.8. That difference is around 7% height. I've only pulled my trailer a couple times since I upsized, I think there's a flat spot in 6th where I would normally cruise. I have the manual with 4.3 gear rear, though. Acceleration with the trailer is on par with what it was before.

I gained MPG when accounting for the 8% overdrive from my tires. Power is down commensurately, but it's not atrocious.

So how much weight are you guys still putting in the bed before it bottoms out. I want to still be able to haul truck stuff( wood, bricks, house things). On stock suspension or lifted?

I got my Fox suspension kit installed over the weekend and now I'm looking at new tires. I'm currently torn between 265/75R16 and 255/85R16. I've seen a few posts from some people that ran the 255's but would never go back so now I'm a little worried. I don't do a hell of a lot of offroading but natrually I'd like the truck to look nice.

While you may see a few people that didn't like them, the majority love them. This can be said with any size/type of tire. if you're that worried, try to find someone locally with the 255s and have them take you for a ride.

Just got these BFG km3’s installed today after figuring out what I was going to do about the stock tires. For what I use the truck for I was trying to avoid the rabbit hole of fixing something I don’t actually have a problem with. The truck rides great and has enough capability for how it will be used off-road.

They do kind of have that tractor tire look but they ride well so far and don’t rub. We’ll see how these hold up. I was half tempted to get the Toyo MT’s but these were about $30 a tire cheaper and I could get them sooner. I chose these over the Cooper’s because I wanted a dedicated mud terrain tire due to past experience with all-terrain tires on Forrest service trails in Northern California during the winter.

Wow they really do look skinny from the back.

I think part of it is the driveway slope. The truck is backed up it which takes some of the weight off the back. These do seem to have a skinny tread width compared to some photos of other tires I have seen in this thread though.

Hmmm I see. I love the look from the side, I'm just worried about it looking goofy from the front/rear. I'm sure it looks great in person.

Because they’re so proportionally tall, they look pretty utilitarian when you view them from the front or back. Kind of depends on the tread, too. Mud terrains with bigger tread gap/blocks look more tractor-like.

Is there a huge difference in width compared to 265/75R16 tires? That's my other possible choice.

    Sweet! ,
honestly the oem 265’s looked wider in person but I think part of that is due to how BFG designed the km3’s in this width. Looking at photo’s of the st maxx or other AT tires it looks less drastic. That photo from the front that I took is more indicative of what they really look like in person.
