So 255/85/16 tires fit on a stock vehicle?

what about 16.7 rims with 0 offset. Also, what is the a performance difference vs 265/75/16

yes, thats the entire premise of this thread

    what's a 16.7 rim

0 offset negates the use of the skinny tire on a stock rim so you'll probably have clearance issues.

I'd rather not look back on that day my wallet died but for a fellow taco brother, I'll make an exception. I believe it was right at around $1,400.......for 4. Oof it hurts to think about it but they do make a huge difference in look. The guys at Discount Tired wouldn't believe me when I told them they would fit. They tried mounting one first then came back inside and "Yup, you were right. I would never have believed a tire that size would have fit.".

I'm still waiting to get my AAL added to my rear packs and adjust my front shocks. I should be able to get about another inch in lift after everything is done. Right now it sits like a stock TRD OR.

Do you have any pictures looking down your truck with the spacers? I've thought about adding them but I'd like to see how much it pushes them out first.

Even odds that combo rubs somewhere in the fender/cab mount. That rim works out to a ~4" backspace which is pushing the tire out a bit in the wheel well.

Seems like the toyo open country mt 255/85/16 has a high rub chance, is that accurate?

6112 on 4/5 clips (1.5”) and stock uca

Whats the feeling on the Dick Cepek Extreme Country in this size? Lightest tire I can find, tight(er) tread pattern and they more affordable than the BFG or Cooper tires of the same flavor. Thinking of getting them but afraid to pull the trigger on bigger tires!

Set on the size, love the skinnies... whats a good spacer size to get them not looking so "Sucked in" or do they even look that bad without them?

Spacers will likely cause rub, and I find they look pretty good tucked in on factory rims. Also consider the Courser CXT's, I find they're a very streetable setup, and long wearing too.

Has anyone mounted 255/85r16s on the Tacoma TRD Pro gloss wheels but on an otherwise stock OR model?

I assume there should be no issue, but the TRD Pro wheels have a +13 offset in lieu of the +25 of the OR wheels.

From the pics it looks like you're on stock suspension. Is that correct?

That's what I'm running, they're definitely mud terrain tires. I like them, but wet traction is not the best. Happy to let the computer compensate for it though.

Drop in MPG? Power loss? I have it as a daily driver. But want some ground clearance. Figures Skinnies had the least rolling resistance so here I am looking at the best options. Was looking at the Geolanders as well

You're definitely going to notice a difference in responsiveness and likely milage with larger tires. If you drive in a reserved manner and don't overcome by pushing the pedal harder it won't be too bad.

Don't forget to calculate milage manually and adjust for the increased size of the tire. The computer in the truck isnt accurate stock and isn't accurate with larger tires.
