Tacos are awesome, skinny tires are good, Falken AT4w are good in the rain and dry but suck in the snow and ice.
Even the old KO2s are better

This is only braking from 30 mph and then they went from stopped up to 30mph. The Falken stunk.

The test is done on snow, that’s where the tire sucks. In the dry and rain it’s fine.
Even if you take half the extra distance in “the fast lane” tire comparison the AT4w stunk.

did they run chalk test Before this test?
cause i found that for me 35 psi works best. and travelling from FL to NJ and then to Niagara Falls i pumped tires twice to keep pressure

Made the switch to 255/85/16 wild peaks after having 2 sets of 265/75/16 nitto ridge graps (wish they made skinny 33s). Just made a 2500 mile trip from Indy to Texas.

so far, wild peaks have been good. Definitely can tell that I’ve gotten bigger tires. Really doesn’t like 6th gear on the highway now, feels like it takes a little longer to stop. The ride itself is great and they’ve done great in the rain, haven’t had any snow experience. Lost probably 1-2mpg, but I think having winter mix fuel/the cold has also contributed to that as well
    IMG_8845.jpg

overall I’m happy with them! Have to take the good with the bad when you’re trying to look cool and be on 33s

What do you mean by ENC? A quick google found this and they definitely have snow there.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_North_Central_states

Do you mean Eastern North Carolina? If so, it doesn’t seem to be a widely used abbreviation.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I will admit I didn't watch the video. My experience is that the Wildpeaks aren't horrible in snow. They aren't as good as my Grabbers were (and I thought they were pretty good), but I don't see them causing me trouble.

Down here on southern east coast ENC = Eastern North Carolina...NC gets snow for sure...lived in mts for years in WNC (Western NC), got it good...been in ENC, coastal plain, and it has snowed 1 time each winter but just a dusting, melts on rd with contact. Could we get a snow, sure, but past 5 yrs, nada...sub-tropical climate (Tar R/Pamlico R basin/ Pamlico Sound) You definitely get it good up there in MN, so you have more experience with the snow on WP AT4...

OK, I watched the video. The first thing I noticed is they are running the same pressure. That could be much of the problem. You can't just blindly run different tires with the same pressure. Different construction will likely require different pressures. They did note that the Wildpeaks that they had mounted were E load. If the other tires were C load or even SL, you will see a huge difference.

The other thing I was thinking is that tires work differently on different vehicles. The differences may be minor, but they are there. A tire that works well on a Jeep may not perform the same on a Tacoma. The different overall weight and weight balances have to be considered.

Overall, I don't consider this 'test' to be very good.

F-250 with the 7.3 godzilla. It is a gasser, but will work as long as you don't need the extra torque and towing the 6.7 powerstroke would offer. I've heard really great things about this engine. I'll probably get one in a handful of years to pull a travel trailer.

I might be rethinking a little. The new Lexus 550GX has me excited. Might try to grab one when they come back from leases in 2 years.

Is there something substantially different other than the engine and gas between the F250 in 7.3 vs 6.7? Is it essentially the same truck with a different drivetrain?

    Working on it!
Just put on the Falken Wildpeak skinnys. I had to take off my front mud flaps, no big deal. I am getting a rub on the aft inner liner of the front tire. Looked at videos of cutting. Just might go ahead with either a 1" spacer or the Bilstein 5100's on the front with it set at 1". Thoughts?IMG_3435.jpg
