They maybe skinner, but probably much taller.

Kai from Tinker’s Adventure recently made a video that made me curious how tall of a tire you could go with for a 3rd gen using the principles and tips he recommenced

-skinnier taller tires with higher aspect ratio
-using wheels with positive offset rather than 0 or negative
    -alignment

Apparently 255/85 R16 is only available in the KM3 Mud Terrain Tires right now according to the BFG Web Site.

265/75 R16 is as close as I can find in KO2 KO3 tires.

I already have 255/85r16, but have long been curious about 10.5x35. 10.5” is approximately 265mm and should fit fine on stock wheels.

There aren’t many options. The only 16” radial I know of is the interco super swamper at like $600 a tire. That seems like way too much money. It might be super sweet though.

There are a few 17” options including the kenda klever m/t at around $300.

There are also some cheaper bias ply options, but my truck is a daily driver.

I haven’t seen a lot of info about fitment of this size, but it’s easy to imagine that it’s less work than a 315mm 35”.

I thought all tires were radials now. No more Bias Ply unless you were getting classic car tires for Concourse d'Elegance.

Has anyone run 255/85/16's (specifically Falken Wildpeaks ideally) with a 16x8 wheel with -12mm offset? I'm having trouble finding good information on rub with 16x8's. JBA has told me this offset is necessary to clear the UCAs. I'm on a 3" Toytec Aluma Lift. I have considered a 16x7 with 0 mm offset as well, but this has proven to be a tough size to find.
