I was wanting to run the 255/80/17 tire on the trd 4Runner pro wheels but I don't think the offset will work out as well (if at all) compared to the oem trd 3rd gen OR wheels.

Yeah any of the TRD Pro wheels have enough of an offset that youd probably have to do a little work. I've been eyeballing the 2nd gen Tacoma pro faux-beadlocks whenever I get around to getting new wheels

Add me to the tall skinny club! My Tacoma is only a week or so old and my BFG's in 255/85/16 arrive tomorrow. :D

I had the same idea to run 255/80/17, but your right the offset doesn't seem to work out. Debating to get 255/75/17 or a 265/70/17. I want the skinny tall look, but I dont want to part with my TRD SEMA wheels.

What's your alignment look like? You could get a lot more caster and push it forward without having to chop anything.

Hmmm...I'm hoping I don't rub when I lift my truck next week. I have the same tires with fj team trail wheels

I have the same setup and was worried about this as well so I went with the 265/75/16s. I will be in need of new tires soon and will once again have to make the decision to chance it. I don't want to do the CMC. In my opinion the ST Maxx run a little wider than other tire brands. I know some guys who are running BFG KM2s and don't have any issues. I don't see how some people have rubbing issues with no lift and you are having problems with 3inches and aftermarket UCAs.

That's why I was curious to see what his alignment numbers are. He should be able to get a lot of caster, pushing the wheel forward away from the cab mount. Doesn't make sense otherwise.

Well I'm gonna hope my small 1.5-2in lift doesn't cause any problems...

I had it aligned the other way with the lower arms adjusted forward but it wandered all over on the freeway. I have the SBC adjustable upper arms.

Huh, weird. I only have 1.56° of caster and I clear the cab mount with ease. I remember reading somewhere that there's a way to gain caster, but your wheel is moved backwards, which didn't make sense to me. Maybe that's what's going on. Either way, if you're cool with a CMC then it doesn't really matter.

I have the BAMF chop plates and a nice mig. Not too worried about it. Its lame that Toyota doesn’t just put the cab mount back farther or change the design a tiny bit.
