Thanks man. I think once these stock goodyear's serve their time, I'm gonna give it a shot. I want the taller tires, but absolutely no interest in changing my pro suspension

Well below the lowest price they've ever been, too bad I don't need new tires cause I would snag these up

That’s crazy. For my 255/80/17 Open Country I paid $560 shipped for 4.

Thanks to everyone who posted so much valuable information on here. I am in a 2016 stock suspension SR ACLB, and wanted to throw some 255s on with plans to lift in the future. I have the SR steel wheels and cant seem to find anyone who knows if the backspacing will allow me to use the same wheel. If not, it seems like the three confirmed wheels that work without rubbing are the 16" stock OR wheel with 255/85/16, the 17" TRD Trail Edition Wheel with 255/80/17, and the 16" cheaper steel wheel which worked for Thedriza. So I was wondering, If I want to choose an aftermarket wheel, outside of these options, what is the backspacing that I should be looking for that will allow me to at least clear the UCA? Im hoping that these SR wheels would work because I actually like the look. Thanks for any help!

The issue with a lot of aftermarket wheels is that they’re too wide for A) the tire and B) the wheel well.

You’re best off trying to find an authentic 7” TRD wheel that you like. If that Trail Team wheel fits on an SR then the 4Runner Pro wheel should fit as well. I apologize because I did not read the entirety of the thread, so I don’t know the nuances of the SR specifically and what they can fit. Logic tells me, find similar BS to all of those wheels and you should be okay. Don’t buy an 8” wide wheel.

When you buy online, what does a local tire place charge to mount and balance them??
Have some refused to mount tires that they didn't sell?

I go to a locally owned performance wheel and tire place. They charge $15 per wheel and I get the assurance that they actually give a shit about what they’re doing. Shop local!

It would be silly for someone to deny business since so many shops can perform this simple service.

Buying tires online isn't local but I was curious if your local shop was gouging.
That price is what I used to pay for a place on the lower east side to patch a flat....they never balanced.

I agree with shopping local when it makes sense. I have lived in some places where the local mom and pop shops really raked their customers over the coals. I don't mind paying a little extra, but I'm not going to pay 25% extra on $1000.

Exactly. If it makes sense, like in my mounting and balancing case, I like to do it. In the case of my tires, Simpletire is just absurdly cheap.

I haven't read the entire thread yet, so you may have answered this elsewhere. Did you have to do anything to fit the 255/85R16 spare in the stock spare location?

    Setup looks awesome btw!

Nothing, my km2 fits. It rubs a little on the exhaust mount. Just do it slowly

I'm thinking about it.. looks aggressive but not quite as aggressive as the other pizza cutters. As this is my daily driver, I dont know if I want to go for something as aggressive as the cooper or bfg

That’s not a bed rack, but rather a Softopper with the sides rolled up.
