I wonder who supplies the transfer cases as there have been several guys on here the past few years with leaks. If they have an issue it has nothing to do with the Toyota plant in Texas or Mexico

I have travelled six of the seven continents for my profession. While America is the best, there is good in just about every place on earth.
20 years ago, my best meal ever was cheese, goat meat and hard bread by a campfire near the trans siberian highway. We slept in Land Cruisers for two nights on that trip. So yes, sometimes made in America is overrated lol.

5/7 continents for me that I have lived in

Traveling opens ones mind to this vast world

Land cruisers are the best , with Patrols a close second
Though my heart wants a D110

Best desert for me was oxen milk based desert in Myanmar

Best meal for me is Indonesia and Malaysia

    Best people is midwestern Americans

Personally I don't think there are any more, or less, quality problems. Even if 100 people here reported a seal leak, that is only a fraction of a percent of monthly sales.
What I do think happens is more and more people take to the internet to talk about their problems, big or small.
On my conference call with Germany today I heard a saying that has relevance here: "Sometimes, it's nothing more than a thunderstorm in a glass of water..."

    Agreed

When Camry was having sludge issues or odyssey with trans issues internet wasn’t as prevalent

    You are right

We are hearing all the issues now

I tried buying a ram1500/Colorado/f150 this week, but prices led me back to Tacoma even with all its issues ........

But even if the transfer case and transmission are not made in the Mexico or USA plants, that is where they are assembled together to form the drivetrain.

I believe Aisin supplies the Transmissions so if the Transfer Cases also come from them then maybe not. They try to have as many things assembled before they get to the line as a way to improve quality and reduce mistakes.

I really don't know for sure but I believe Toyota owns a chunk of Aisin so it would make sense for them to use them as a source.

Aisin 8 speed has been very problematic in LX570

I don’t like paying $90,000 and getting a lemon from Toyota

If I want to know my service advisor on first name basis, I could have bought a Range Rover and not a LX

That would fall on the Transmission Supplier, not the final assembly plant for the Truck.

This thread keeps getting derailed. I thought we were discussing hot dog tacos.

    gallery-1493414145-delish-hot-docos-02-pin.jpg

When you think about it, the hot dog taco represents the very best the USA and Mexico have to offer, living in perfect harmony.
