My #apartmentfab limitations basically dictate things must be bolt on or doable with basic power tools. Mainly because I enjoy doing things myself on my truck, and if something gets messed up, it was my fault. I've gotten pretty crafty for a few solutions when a welder and a band saw would have fixed a lot of my problems a lot easier.

My goal is to have a capable, and slightly overbuilt truck, with minimal attention to passerby. Nothing beyond a 3 inch lift, a good set of bumpers that can take hell, good sliders, no modifications to the engine, 17” wheels (nothing flashy) and nothing above a 35” tire, Nitro 5:29 gears, Diamondback HD bed cover, good winch, maybe a couple of auxiliary lights that will be mounted in a less conspicuous location (big fan of the midnight edition from Rigid Industries), ARB fridge, dual battery setup, few other odds and ends. My goal is to be capable but as low profile as possible.

    Low Profile and 35s...hmm...

Have fun with your build man, and good luck :)

lol I thought the same thing. OP is gonna have to trim his fenders, hammer a bunch of shit and annihilate the cab mount to fit those.

I feel like you just described mine if you ignore the dune flag and RTT. Mainly because that was my exact concept when piecing this together. Not too bad for LEDs on all 4 sides, winch, on board air, 3" lift, bigger tires, etc.

I just saw those last night. I’m a fan. The big thing I want to avoid is welding parts that may need to be replaced later due to damage like sliders. I’m more than over cutting, grinding, rewelding, grinding more, then painting. Bolt on is for me as of now.

I stress, as low profile as possible. I know it will stick out to some, but I’m a “fly under the radar” kind of guy with vehicles.

For reference this is what 35s looks like on a 3rd gen. Not exactly subtle, but it is sexy. I think what would be more up your alley is 255/85r16. If on stock wheels, they'll clear with stock suspension yet they're 33" tall.

Thanks friend! A habit for me is to avoid attracting attention / standing out so it works for me. :spy:

That is beautiful. I’m curious about the lift. I like the roof rack as well, but I can’t find a practical use for one myself. The snorkel stands out as well. For a show truck, it’s cool as shit. I’d imagine it’s capable off-road as well.

Or KO2s in the 34x10.5R17. On stock wheels they fit without rubbing w/ a 2” lift

Exactly. I’m not rock crawling with my truck, but everything else is fair game.

I took mine out to a boulder filled trail this weekend and got over a lot of stuff a lot easier than I thought on 32s. But the jeep on 40s that passed me with little effort made me consider 33+s for a little bit yesterday.

Well to avoid adding a tire thread to the massive amount that exist already, I thought about the KO2’s but after some conversation, I may be out on those for now. That is some research I’ll be doing tonight again.

Kings all around, can't remember what leafs he has. Here's the roof rack. All depends on how a truck is built if it's needed or not. I have a camber shell, so having a roof rack on both the shell and roof is essential for the occasional time I need to haul some steel or plywood, etc. Plus it's nice for camping lights to mount on the side. Just stick around and peruse peoples builds, but more importantly use your truck. Use it, and learn the shortcomings and what can be improved on. That's the best way to get a truck tailored to you.
