Hello fellas, I’m new to posting on here so excuse me if this is the wrong place to ask these questions. I have a 2010 Tacoma with the factory trd supercharger and a ton of other upgrades however I’d like to max out the performance of this truck within a respectable safe range. It’s not my daily as I have a 2008 n/a i daily so down time not an issue. My question is there any need for the 3 % cam gears if I’ll be having the truck tuned with hp runner software? Is that something the runner can adjust without the need of replacing the cam gears? Would it be a waste of time replacing can gears if the hp tunners allows for the same adjustments or does it not allow you to adjust the overlap of the valves.

@scootter82 thanks for clearing that question up for me. I have 5k to dump on performance mods and want to make sure I’m not buying parts that will cancel each other out. Cam gears it is.

What about me? I have a N/a Tacoma with the gears. No other mods. Is it worth getting the tune? I have a 2015 so I think they are tuned to be more linear??

@JustDSM would say yes, it's worth tuning even without a supercharger.
