Hi guys, I have a 2002 4-door prerunner and I just called 4wheelparts to order rims that I had been wanting for quite some time. I just called them and the sales rep told me that the rim won't fit on my truck. This is it

    http://www.4wheelparts.com/prodDetail.aspx?partNo=BRW900B586037

Anyway, the guy said I won't be able to fit ANY aftermarket 15" rim on my truck because of the calipers. Is this true? I find it funny that no one has mentioned this to me in the past.

Thanks, in advance, for your alls info!!!!

Ya I have heard people complain about this before, I have a 96 with 15's but I think when Toyota started making the newer style first gen's they got bigger calipurs.

you can fit 15s on a first gen double cab...

there are some wheels though that won't clear the ABS on first gens, so 4WP tends to do a blanket reply that 15s won't fit on a tacoma... it covers them in case there is an issue.. they don't have to take the wheels back cuz they officially disuaded you...

if you really want the wheels in that size though, you could take a chance and order one to test fit...

but then the $ of the tires are 80 more per tire. Either way, I would rather have 15's.

Trying to determine "what offset" will work on my 96 Taco extended cab? I currently have 245/45 17s on it with the look I like, but don't know their offset? Also, I want to go to 18x9.5s but unsure if I would have issues (rubbing in front when I turn rubbing the inner fenders in the rear)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You can determine your back space of your wheel if you take it off and measure with a straight edge of sorts by laying it across the lip of the back of the wheel then put your tape against the flange where your lug holes are (center of wheel) then the measurement from the back of the center of the wheel to that straightstraight edge you layed across the lip of the wheel will be your BS...
