About to buy a gun here in Tucson. Wondering if there is any open land around the area where we can shoot? Or do we just have shooting ranges? Looking for open land more specifically south near Sahuarita. Appreciate the help!

I got you fam. :infantry: I just got my own gun in November and was asking around on Reddit trying to find a place. I found this place, and finally tried it out last weekend. It's pretty nice for shooting. We went there Sunday morning and it was easy enough to find a place to shoot.

Thats awesome! That's only like 10 mins from my house! Is that a public range or open land?

It's open land. So basically open areas with tall (20ft+) dirt backstops. I believe its technically privately owned, but there's a sign at the entrance saying it's open to use.

Ditto on that spot. There's where I shot when I lived in Sahuarita. It has a bunch of spots to shoot close, then a range you can shoot ~300yards.

There is federal land near Rio Rico that has been put aside just for shooting. Head south on I-19 and take Exit 12 Ruby Road, turn right and drive about 20 minutes and its on your right hand side. There is a sign that states this land is for shooting. Simply go through the gate and find a spot to shoot.

FYI: Just don't bring any Tannerite............
