Wondering if anybody is ever had a simular problem when I turn the key if the check engine light comes on the truck will start. If the check engine light doesn't come on when I initally turn the key to on position the truck won't start it has done this sporadically
    for the last year

The vehicle commonly referred to as "The War Rig" is a 78 foot 18 wheeler based on a Tatra T815
    That was a good year

The check engine light comes on as a internal self test for the pcm. If it doesn't come on it means something happened and it didn't pass the self test. That's why it won't start, I bet the computer denies power to the coils

I would check all grounds. The pcm rides in a plastic chassis that is electrically neutral. It's grounded through the harbess that plugs into it.

    That's why I suggested a grounding issue

My brother's 4Runner did this, the CEL would dim down while cranking and the truck wouldn't start. It was corrosion built up on the engine harness' grounds. Check all the grounds in the engine harness, as well as the battery to body and battery to engine grounds.

The ECM ground is on the left side of the engine of the 3.4 ( under the data link connector) they can be quite touchy .

I just snugged mine up maybe a 1/8 of a turn was enough to lose the ground.

You mean it cranks but will not start?

It does not even crank ?
