Just bought a 02 taco about a month ago (ext. cab pre-run. v6, auto). Was wondering about keyless entry and getting it installed cause i dont think it has it. My next question is regarding fog lights. The truck looks like it has fog lights but for the life of me i cant figure out how to turn them on. Maybe there turn signals, i dunno. Hope to hear from someone soon. Thanx:confused:

If you have fog lights, they should come on with the headlights unless the "brights" are on.

I am not familiar with the 1st Gen Tacomas, but if there isn't a switch on the dash on the left hand side of the steering column then check the turn signal stalk. It may have a switch that is further in from the light switch.

Good luck and WELCOME TO TW!

THanks for the input. I'll look at night next time im driving and see if they come on. Does anyone know if i would be better off getting an aftermarket keyless and alarm or going with the toyota vip? Price difference? thanks:confused:

Aftermarket alarms are almost always full of more features. It dependson what you are looking for.

My boss added the Toyota VIP alarm/keyless entry to his 06' Tundra. He said it took him about 2 hours to put in. He ordered it through www.toyotaworld.com.

I looked at mine it isn't very complicated.

1st gen Tacos don't have fogs that come standard or as an option. The lights you see on the bumper are turn signals. The lights next to the headlights are side marker lights.
