    Description
I have a '17 TRD OR and just reached 100,000 miles on the odo. Somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 I put on a Bilstien 3" lift and tires, 3/4 inch wheel spacers, a warn winch bumber and a winch, skid plates, and rock sliders. I also put a trailer brake controller on for hauling my Jeep.

    What it has Done
I started off roading it some after the above mods. It did the KY Adventure Trail, The Red Clay Rally, and a round trip to Colorado from TN (including a week of trails and alpine passes there). I have also taken it to many of the moderate local trails. The harshest trail conditions it has seen are big (for an IFS truck) rocks and deep water (well above the 285 tires).
It has also towed its limit a bunch of times with no issues. I haul my Jeep on a trailer with the Taco. It has to run in S-4 with the power map button pushed, but it will climb Monteagle Mountain in TN with that load.
It does a lot of real truck stuff.

    How it has Treated Me
I have a built Jeep and this truck. I would prefer to take this truck offroading everywhere, but it's not built for that and is my daily driver. It is very comfortable off and on road. Nothing I have ever done offroad has caused it to drive badly on the way home. The Crawl Control does not work well where I go, but the Multi Terrain select is my go to for front locker(ish) needs. I use the rear locker alot. The transmission shifting behaviors never bothered me.

    Problems
    This is a short list.
    • I had a popping pinging noise in the front end when I would turn sharply, as when pulling into a parking spot. It turned out to be a loose bolt in the aftermarket skid plate that was causing the noise. (my fault)
    • At 90,000 miles, both front hub units went bad. This was possibly due to the deep water crossings they experienced often between 20,000 miles and 40,000 miles. I took them to the dealership and they warrantied them fully.
    Takaways
Don't stress too much over lifting, wheel spacers, or rubbing tires a little. Don't panic when you read about "issues" on this forum. You have to remember that many people just come to a forum to ask about problems they are having. So it will seem like these trucks have a lot of problems. They really don't. But some people do... Don't be afraid to use your truck. It works like a truck should. Quicksand is the bomb. I have handwashed my truck 2 times in 3 and a half years. Mostly I just run it through an auto wash. That freaks some people on the forum out... but i still get compliments on the color all the time. That tells me 2 hand washes every few years is plenty.

Cheers boy and girls... enjoy your investment! I know I am.

Very nice. Always cool to see these kind of posts. Been thinking of lifting mine in the future. Did you install the ECGS bushing?

the only 'significant' maintenance related to wear & tear i have had to do was also to replace the hubs, which was around 72k or so. I'm at 82k now. of course i had abused the crap out of them so it was not a big surprise.

Love the Quicksand color with black trim. I had a 2017 Quicksand Tacoma that I upgraded to a 4Runner. I never had any problems out of it

I started this thread way back and the results are about 50/50 among those who did not install when they lifted. I have not needed the bushing.

    Nice.

Still gonna get up with you one of these days.
Think we exchanged pm's some time back and we're local.

This reminds me, I need to google some pics of 285's on Access Cabs.
They look so right on the DC's..

But but but...according to this forum mostly from people who don't actually own the truck these trucks cannot make it to 100k. I think you're lying.

That's fine and all, but think about how much better it would have performed with a hood scoop!

Kidding... Congrats and great write up. I hope mine lasts as well as yours did. Great job!
