Long time since I've posted .

Father's going out of town for 3 weeks as of July 18th, and this poses a bit of a problem for me. I need a reliable source of transportation.

I've had my license for 11 months now, just don't have a car currently.

I'm wondering if Farmers Auto Insurance would have a deal in which I could pay a fee to be on his coverage for those 3 weeks so I can stay mobile. For some reason this idea is depriving me from sleeping, so does anyone know if there are plans/deals like that?

Check with your dad about what coverage he has. Some companies (such as USAA which is what I have) allows me to list additional drivers for free. So family members can be added. Then as long as he doesn't suspend his coverage for the 3 weeks that he's out of town, you and the vehicle will still be covered.

For free?? Is your insurance company high-priced or what?

No, it's the cheapest you can get but you have to be military or former military or related to military to get it. We pay $220 a month for full coverage on the following: 2006 Tacoma, 2007 Mustang GT Convertible, 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 and then that also includes our home owners insurance. Also, I'm 34 and my wife is 29, with 0 tickets or wrecks since we've had the police, which helps. Farmers though is really good as well.

Well money's tight right now (like you haven't heard that before.)
I have enough saved for a month's worth of auto insurance, I'm just wondering what the cost would be for a short term add-on.
