There is nothing wrong with layering waxes/sealants, etc. Shouldn't adversely effect protection.

Since you did all the proper cleaning to get you paint in the proper state for the next steps, I would apply a sealer then you can always apply a carnauba wax on top a sealer. A sealer will protect the paint and a carnauba wax will enhance the look when you need it. Sealers are better protectors than carnauba wax and they can be layered.

If you are't worrying about the money you can look into the new ceramic type sealers like opticoat.

harpolith: I am sorry about my post earlier, I agree with your comments about layering 100%. When I made the statement bad idea, i was referring to the original post of using Turtle wax jet black spray wax then applying meguiars gold class on top.

I am 100% all about the layering process.

If anyone wants to really look into a great system, I would check out AMMO NYC products.

    If so what's your opinion?

Haven’t tried it but those prices are ridiculous especially for the spray and sealant. Looks like snake oil to me.

Given what info I can find on it, it’s about the same as Top Coat. Both products are snake oil. Basically claiming to be the great end all and be all or detailing products. Stick with a reputable brand.

Here is one of the better detailing youtube channels giving it a pretty meh review. Normally he'll show a product surviving round after round of chemical abuse before it's gone. With this he didn't even bother as it barely looked like it had protection with just water. There are a ton of these spray on products check out some of the brand sold by Autogeek they all have similar sprays. Many will be cheaper and a few that are even more expensive (IGL Premeir $67 for 16oz).
