    Hi, New Guy here.....
On my new Tacoma SR5 I noticed the Hood Quivers, Shakes, Flutters, or moves above 40 mph, or in the Car wash dryer air jets.
    Is this normal?
It is as if the Top Metal Skin is not secured to the hood under frame structure.

Look under the hood to see if the glue failed ..mine flutters and noticed the glue failed at some spots . Shit design don’t know why they just don’t weld them together .

Sometimes those little blobs of adhesives gives way and the hood skin will separate, if it has they will repair it under warranty.

Check around for some pictures on here of the "warranty repair" they just flood more glue in there and 90% of the time it looks like a drunk monkey did it.

My hood separated already, but Im going to just let it flutter till I get a sport hood (sport hoods dont have the issue)

Man you guys are Quick and Good!!
I checked to Glue spots and all have separated. It seems to be a foamy like Silicon.
I called the Dealer and they were already closed until Monday morning.
Thank you guy a lot that's seems like an easy fix. :101010:
if it is just Silicon should I do it myself?

Let them fix it, there could be rust that needs to be handled.

It's pretty crazy that we're coming up on five years of production and this is still an issue

Just fixed mine this weekend using 3M NVH. I applied the NVH to the factory foam joints that failed as well as some other areas that could help with more contact adhesive between the hood skin and braces.

There is lots of good info and pictures in the link posted in comment #8.

Took my SR5 in to the Dealer today to get the hood glue joints fixed.
They determined this was the first time that they have seen this condition. They have ordered the correct glue and will contact me when it arrives. They warned me that it is not a common part and it may take a few weeks to get the special glue. I asked if there would be a Loaner involved to allow the glue to set/dry. they told me that it only takes about 20-30 min so no loaner vehicle needed.
Hmm:confused: I thought another thread someone mentioned it was a 24 Hr dry time. Well alrighty then.

The other option is to swap out for a sport/scooped hood if you like the look of it and have the cash. The scoop actually keeps the two pieces secured together and eliminates the issue. Non-functional my ass!

Depends on what adhesive they are using. 3M NVH has a working time of 60 minutes and a cure time of 24 hours when ambient air temps are 73 degrees. (According to the spec sheet)

I checked mine after a few hours and the adhesive was dry to touch but I figured why risk it and waited the full 24 hours before driving.

Some flutter is normal. But if you think the Taco is bad, try driving any given Ford an highway speeds!

Adhesive separation definitely doesn't help that.

Mine does it. Dealership fix is to replace hood but they come unpainted and your relying on the lowest bidding body shop to match and fade the paint on your new truck. F$&@ that!!! Fix it your self. Im going to try the 3M NVH stuff.
