I'm just now getting around to transferring my gear and stuff from my old truck to the new. And I'm looking at it, realizing I don't want it to turn into a pile of tools and gear bouncing around in the back all the time with boxes and cases tossed ontop of each other.
I think I want to find or build a shelf/rack across the back "seat" area so toolboxes and milk crates full of gear can be stored under and the top can be used for daily use storage.
You guys seen something like this? Or have any idea how to go about building one?

Ive seen the rear delete system they've made for access cabs and double cabs. Something to look into. if you have a decent sized dog it's a way for them to hangout back there easier also. I forgot the name of them but there's a company or two.

I think I can swing it with a 4' plastic utility shelf. Would just have to build legs or a kleat for the back. Gonna go see if I can't scrounge one up out of the garage.

If you are never hauling people it makes the most sense. You get all the extra cargo room. Of course just removing the seats themselves let's you keep all the extras. But for a work truck it's the way to go.
