No money, all went to truck...
Anyone mount a pipe rack or any sort of rack on THE TOP of the bed rail and NOT using the inside tracks? Wondering if its possible to bolt the racks straight down on the side rails.

I want to get the bakflip and mount racks at the same time. I don't want the bakflip rack system.

I don't see how I can have both at this point....

I have been looking for just the same thing you are asking about. I already have the G2 Bakflip on my truck with no easy way it seems to put a rack on after that. Have you had any luck since posting this?

just sheet metal under there. i have yakima tracks on mine, mounted over the caps. i drilled and used large screws. i guess it would be possible to get a nut/washer/bolt in there, but you might have to cut some sort of access hole.
