That looks great! I will do that. Which wire did you splice into for power supply?

Just use an add-a-fuse in your fuse box on the driver's side of the dash. Find a switched fuse (forget which one I used now) to add it to using a multimeter and you're good to go.

The Blendmount is very nice but very pricey. I went with the Performance Package version. Very happy with it. I think it's easier to lead the OEM lead in the headliner, down the A pillar, and to the fuse box. I did use the mirror tap on my 12' Corvette GS. The Tacoma is just easier to route the lead due to how easy it is to remove the A pillar, two bolts and pull.

I've just got mine Velcro'd to the dash. I ran the power cord out from the top of the radio bezel.

    Blendmount - $90 + shipping
    Performance Package - $35 + shipping
The mount in my DIY - $4 give or take

Not sure why people are so quick to suggest expensive things that accomplish the same goal.

Thanks guys! I'm gonna look into making my own and if that doesn't work I'll look into buying one. I need to get a mirror relocation bracket first so the detector isn't completely blocking my view.

I think I have an idea. I ordered a mirror relocation bracket from Bird-Dawg Industries with a Ram Ball Mount. I've been meaning to get one of these to raise my mirror. I have an old phone mount from ram and could probably rig it to hold the detector. Perfect!

Hey guys I thought I would post pics of the final product!

I ended up getting a mirror riser from Bird-Dawg Industries because I could attach a Ram Ball Mount. Then I had an arm from an old phone mount from them that I rigged into holding the detector with another ball. Came out super clean! I'll link up to the things in an edit.

    1. My solution Passport[ battery powered no cord ] + Velcro easily removed from hot AZ sun and prying eyes. When I'm on the road I place a small empty cheese cracker box over it so it doesn't attract attention of officer friendly.

It's from RAM. They make a ton of different mounts!

I like what you did with your mount. The reason I went with a Blendmount was because I wanted it to look factory and not pieced together. Not saying your's looks bad in anyway but it just wasn't the look I was going for.

Total cost was $80 shipped so I'm good with that for a quality mount. I like that Ram mount also.
