20% over cost. I hoping I won't need it. My head unit will be here by the weekend so I'll know once I wire it up.

Ok so I have a 2012 base radio but I have replaced it with the touch screen radio. Not sure what your it came out of but everything works good I just don't have a mice or the plugs for the mic. Any ideas on what parts I need? The radio has the number 57053 on it if that helps. Thanks

So I came up with this little drawing, for trying to fit the 2013 unit into the 2012 unit.. there are just a few things I wasn't sure what they went to, and I labeled them with red ? Question marks, anybody have any ideas of what they go to? keep in mind my truck has no steering wheel controls, so if that has anything to do with that, I wouldn't know.. lol

The numbers coincide with where they will attach in their new home (presumably)

I just added a 2012 non-touch screen radio to my 2007. It was plug and play, but the new radio has the bluetooth function and my truck never came with that. When I hit "Aux" it says something similar to no BT module found or something. How can I add bluetooth functionality? I'd love to get rid of my USA SPEC auxiliary. Thanks!

SixtyDashOne: The blue outlet on the back of the old radio should be for your sat radio antenna. This is the outlet I'm have difficulty finding an adaptor to go from that on my 2012 to a different jack on the back of a 2015 Entune I'm trying to install.

I am new to this post. I have installed a 2013 touch screen into my 2012 Tacoma, got every to work the way I wanted, but I don't know how to get the overhead OEM mic that I added myself to work with the bluetooth for the phone. Note, I do not have the audio controller on the steering wheel, I was thinking that's what I would need, but not sure. Will it work without installing the audio control on the steering wheel. I look under the airbag and only saw one connector for the airbag and the ground. This led me to think that if I need to install the audio control I will need to replace the clockspring too. These are all my speculation, but unsure of what to do. I only need the bluetooth to work with or without the audio control; however I do not want to splice any wires. Please, please, please, some body help. Thank you.

Old thread with good information. I am hoping someone can still chime in for a question.

I understand the plugs needed, but am lookin for some more clarification on getting the sat radio to work.

I read the options on the first page, one you buy a xm antenna and wire it up. The other seems like an oem expensive option. Now my truck is wired for sat radio stock with the regular radio and I am installing a 13 touch screen. Can anyone clarify what I need to buy or do to make the oem wiring work for satellite radio? Or is it completely impossible.

    Thanks.

Got a 2012 with factory XM and BT. I understand what I need to get to get this radio/BT to work, but I have two questions.
    1. What’s the difference between the 57053 and 57054 (number on radio faceplate)?
    2. What does it take to get the XM hooked up if it’s already installed? Is there a plug on the back already? Or do you connect the blue wire from the antennae adapter?

    Thanks,

    Sorry if I missed something

I put the touch screen in my 2012 and my steering wheel controls work. That’s what one of the adapters is for.

If you currently have XM make sure you get an XM compatible touch screen head unit. If you do that, the only thing that should be affected is the USB plug in. I believe that will still charge but it won’t play.

Edit: The above picture is my phone plugged into the usb and these are my options. I did not get an XM ready head unit because I didn’t use it. But steering wheel controls are fully functional.

No it already had hands free with the old unit, so I had the mic in the dome light area. If you don’t have hands free currently you might have to get one.

I just wanted the touch screen interface, not to mention the better hands free connectivity.

Thats exactly what I want, and yes I already have the heads free now but I wanted clarification on the mod, thanks again. Any more info you have would be appreciated.

Not much more to add. Just get the radio you want, buy the adapters mentioned in this thread or on the site and install it. Took me less than 30 mins once I had everything.

Do you know if this will let you retain hands free cell phone calls through the bluetooth ?

Yes it will. Only thing that is affected is XM if yo I don’t have a satellite ready unit to swap in and the USB plug will only charge, not play.

Does anyone know if you can swap radio knobs on the 2013 model? I recently picked one up but the knobs and trim are scratched up pretty bad
