Have an SR with the utility package (no intermittent wipers). Found a bottle of RainX in the garage that hasn't been used in probably 10 years because nothing we owned was much of a bug killer. Noticed how the 3rd gen windshield loves to kill bugs so cleaned it and treated with the RainX. Drove about 45 miles in the rain the other day and never touched the wiper switch. The rain just flew off the windshield, worth the time to mess with.

Rain X is a great product. I used to use it every winter. And wouldn't need to use wiper blades much. But I live in California and up till this year we really didn't have much rain so I never really used them. There wiper blades work awesome also.

100% recommend any of the rain-x products. I used to take the time to actually treat the windshield, but now I just get the bottles of their windshield washer fluid. It works almost as well as the pre-treatment and I never have to take the time to reapply it. It is a little more expensive, but well worth it.

Clay bar windshield first. This will remove any excess road kill.

Problem with RainX is most window cleaners will remove it. If you really want a durable, long lasting protection, wax your windshield with the same wax you use on your paint. Results are incredible!

Great stuff tho like another poster I've gotten lazy and use the washer fluid too.

Any have any experience with the rain repellent glass now being marketed on some vehicles?

I use Rain X on my side windows and rear window, hate it with a passion on the windshield, makes the wipers bounce around, I do like the Rain X washer fluid though.

I have been using rainX for years. I used it on all my old Tacos because the wipers rarely worked. I'm not a fan of their wiper blades though. Nothing beats the hand application that applies the film.

If your blades are bouncing around, take an alcohol wipe to them... the kind you get at the chicken restraunt.... Clean the wiper rubber.... Now it will be slicker then Eel Snot on a rainy day...!!

I do that on a regular basis, no jumping unless Rain X is on the windshield.

I use stoners invisible glass with rain repellent.
Found it works a bit better than actual rainx brand rain repellent.

try what I posted in that streak free windows thread.
I had the same problem, thought it was the rain repellent in stoners invisible glass w/ rain repellent. It wasn't. I ued 70% isopropyl on the outside then the bar keepers friend stuff. Not sure if the alcohol did it or the bar keepers friend as I used both before trying. But either way they no longer skip thankfully.

I thought it was my wipers until I bought new ones and it still skipped.

I use Sprayway to clean my windshield and small alcohol wipes on my wipers. Never had luck with Rain X Products other than the washer fluid.
