Yeah the lighting is pretty terrible. I've already swapped for some 02 tail lights. I should have grabbed his head lights to but wasnt sure they were direct fit at the time.

The top would come off in late April, early May, and stay off all summer, come mid Sept the top went back on and it was like driving a cave for a few days

Wife wants another one, but I have no desire to rebuild another one, I also don't think I would be able to deal with the 22RE lack of power anymore, and 3.slow is not an option.

I've actually been TOYing with the idea of stuffing the drive train from my current Runner into a TJ/LJ, and swapping in FZJ axles, because BLASPHEMY !

 sounds bad ass though lol

Hell I'm begging for my 2.7 back after driving this 3.4....it's weak! I'm sure its probably got a couple issues that I haven't found yet dragging it down but damn its slow for a v-6!

    are you 5spd ?

bottom right hand door sticker are the axle ratio codes, if you're 5spd and it was originally equipped with 225/75-15 tire and wheels, you have 3.90 gears

you're bigger tires will cause some power loss

It's automatic and I'm running 265's now. 285's coming real soon though. Mpgs are around 15 now. I do have a tear in my air intake tubing right at the throttle body. Maybe that's hurting? Sprayed brake cleaner on it and the runner died.

if you're sucking air AFTER the MAF, yeah, thats a problem, the snorkel isn't doing you any favors either, HUGE air restriction.

sucking air after the MAF can cause it to run lean and burn a valve or piston. not good.

what spark plugs are in it ? 5VZE uses a dual electrode plug ( NGK and DENSO in same engine from factory, though you don't need to do this ) single electrode plugs will work for a short time, but wear out a lot faster due too the "waste spark" design of one coil for 2 cylinders, the plugs fire on every TDC stroke ( compression and exhaust ) this is the reason for the dual electrode plugs.

I'm running 245/75-16 on mine, with a 4.10 rear gear ( still has 3.90 front ) my uncorrected mileage is 17-19mpg depending on whose driving it, and 14-16 when hauling camper (3500b pop-up)

3.4L is known to also clog catalytic converters in the higher miles, this will cause a lack of power issue as well, as will a non OEM O2 sensor, an aftermarket O2 doesn't always react as fast as the OEM, depends greatly on brand and how it's connected, a butt splice connected O2 will cause issues, over fueling because the O2 isn't working efficiently will cause the converter to melt/clog, as will coolant loss. Converter is on the "to do" list on my pile, I think the converter media is loose in the can on mine, that and the muffler has for some reason bloated, been that way for awhile, to lazy and cheap to fix it

oh, depending on the brake cleaner ( flammable or not ) you need to be real careful with that shit. flammable brake cleaner fumes can cause you a lot of grief.
I ran a mower off of it for a few seconds, almost put me in the hospital, was in bed with the chills real bad less than an hour afterward, and felt like chit for a few days afterward, use it welding and It can kill you

Picked up a hi lift jack off craigslist and also ordered a new tire.

Found a guy selling one snowflake rim on craigslist for 20 bucks!

Gonna swap one of my rear tires out for this new one and use that as a spare.
