Ram mount iPad Solution....back to the drawing board

2018 DCSB OR

I wanted to do the exact same mounting solution that lifestyle overland did on their 4 Runner (See pics). I ordered all of the parts and just went out to do my initial recon, and sure enough there is a black floppy plastic HVAC channel tube thingy running right along the passenger side of the trans tunnel under the carpet where he installed his lower ram ball mount on my Tacoma.

Anybody overcome this obstacle yet? Im assuming that his 4-Runner doesn't have the air tube running along there as he stated that he just used self tapping screws to mount his right onto the trans tunnel sheet metal.

Open to suggestions...
