Alarm, which is what I'm leaning towards. Especially with the crappy working job the tech did.

I was referring to the car alarm in the truck. It does not happen at the same time. Mostly late at night or very early in the morning. Has happened during the day too, but rarely. This morning, only the drivers door was unlocked. She goes in at 9am. I'll update everyone and thanks for all the feedback and suggestions.

My truck is at the dealer and one of the issues is the truck was "unlocking itself", mine was unlocking right after I locked it with a beep and a flash (just the drivers door). I realized I could "manually" lock the drivers door from the passenger side and then get out and "remote lock" the rest of the truck which worked. I noticed when I locked it from the drivers seat inside the truck (using the door control) the lock by the door handle would flip back and forth really fast so I took a video of it for the dealer.

I have the push button start model with the touch-unlock/lock drivers door handle.

They sure as hell don't build these like they used too and Toyota Corporate was nearly useless getting the dealer service dept to do almost anything.

I had that happen to my truck when I first bought it two years ago (2017 DCB OR LB) it would lock and up-lock randomly. It stopped doing it after I waxed/ detailed the truck. I figured it might have been something on the drivers handle that was causing it. If you're worried about a robber using a signal repeater, you can deactivate your key FOB signal (the smart key) by holding the lock bottom, and then pressing the unlock button twice. This will stop your fob from sending a signal to your truck. To turn it back on, just press any of the buttons. This will prevent someone from using a repeater to snag your smart key signal to open up your truck and driving away with it.

So, dealership said it's the alarm that was installed when I bought the truck. The alarm guy will be there tomorrow. Also, the head unit needed a software update too. That's the latest folks.

Did they charge you for the head unit update?

They shouldn’t, and usually it’s an OTA update. You’ll see a pop up asking to download an update.

At the risk of hijacking your thread OP. Its seems a few of us are dealing with a frustrating issue in regards to bluetooth audio connection with various models of iPhones. If you don't mind could you please share any or all of the details about the update you mentioned? Even if just a screenshot of the service doc's when you get them?

From what I’ve heard you have to pay to have the map or gracenote databases updated.

I believe that the nav is tied into the entune suite of apps.

Yeah, so it was under a TSB, not sure the number, but it states that various Toyota vehicles suffer from head unit reboots when a device is connected via blue tooth. Also, the adviser said that Tpyota recommends removing the vehicle from your phone and your phone from the vehicle and reestablishing the bluetooth pairing. But, the update was specifically for random reboots of the head unit when trying o plac phone calls via bluetooth. My adviser is a good friend of a friend of mine so she is pretty open with giving us info. I'll try to find out more tomorrow.
